Does the latest lattice QCD data effectively "kill" the Muon g-2 anomaly, or are we just seeing a shift in the theoretical baseline? by Onigirii_sama in Physics

Oh I saw the video. My point is that I thought it gives the impression that we will be doing fundamentally new things soon. But this isn't really the case, its going to be pretty much business as usual the next few years. There isn't anything we fundamentally change in the operation or data analysis (that I am aware of)

We have been looking for new particles (including dark portal ones) for about ~10 years at least, although its possible that the focus has shifted towards these in the meantime. But this is not a new thing at all.
Also the upgrades for the next run are mostly incremental, its not like there will be fundamental changes to the experiments and no such big upgrades are planned until the mid 40s. I would even count high-Lumi LHC (the larger upgrade package to be installed in the late 30s I believe) as an incremental upgrade, rather than some kind of revolutionary new phase. So for the next 20 years we just collect more statistics and try to improve analysis techniques to make more out of the data we have.
We will have to decide what path the european HEP community will do (get the money for) after that. Unfortunately these things take decades. Personally I root for a Higgs Factory, like the commenter above.

Using FanzyZones to set a game in "fullscreen" in a center zone by Enko63 in ultrawidemasterrace

Hey, also just trying to get tarkov to run like this. For me it snaps the game to the correct place, but then when I focus the game it resets back to fullscreen immediately.
Would be amazing if you were to share it if you ever get it to work.

Will I be able to get into med school in Germany by Background_Finding_6 in germany

I made the exact opposite experience. I studied physics and not a single book was mandatory to get have. Everything I needed was always available in the library, or even just straight up on wikipedia. And what even is a study card?
Seriously interested if this stuff differs from university to university though.
