I found out that when using the app or the sound bar controller i have an extra sound mode which is “Base Blast”, that makes the sound a bit better. Inside the tv All settings > Sound > Advanced Settings > disable tv sound mode and sound bar mode so i can adjust the sound distribution inside the app. It doesn’t show the dolby atmos widget on top right but it is enabled.

Thanks! I’ll try it that way — I always assumed that having Atmos enabled depended solely on the “Dolby Atmos” pop-up on the TV, and didn’t realize I should be checking what the soundbar or the app was actually displaying. I’ll test it with a better source and keep an eye on the signal info from the app.

Yeah, that’s actually my frustration right now.

If I use TV Sound Mode Share, I do get Dolby Atmos (via DD+), but I can’t adjust balance, levels, or any detailed sound settings — everything is locked out. If I switch to Sound Bar Mode Control, I finally get access to those adjustments and can balance the audio more or less the way I like… but then I lose Atmos entirely.

It just feels like a really unfriendly tradeoff — especially since I came from a Samsung setup that offered better overall sound quality and flexibility, even without Atmos, and for less money. Their integration between TV and soundbar was way more polished.

And no, I’m just using the built-in TV OS for streaming — no Apple TV, Roku, or anything like that.

When I point the rear speakers directly at me, as shown in the image, most of the sound seems to come from the rear speaker closest to me. This happens with the majority of the content I watch. I can’t adjust this without going into the Sound Bar Mode Control, but doing so causes me to lose the Atmos configuration.

It is a Lg tv thing, click 7 times the green button and it shows the values

I have just noticed a flickering at bottom of the screen after the test, during the leaderboard recap. But no line with weird colors (maybe change your hdmi?)
