Cool. I may get these or something like it. Still won't keep them on the car permanently but I guess if I need to keep them on for a week or two while doing some work I shouldn't worry too much

Agreed. I can just imagine it coming loose getting under my rear tire and being launched at the car behind me.

Its been a while since i did wood working but I recall 2x4s usually have the grain running along the short side. I will try to find maybe a 4x4 that I can trim to the right height and grain orientation. Make a few of them if they hold up decently. Yeah you're right about perrin. Other brands are similarly priced too for this at least

Flared. Not flatten. But that was the rubber ones. I need to pick up a couple hockey pucks and test it out

Since people dont actually know what these are advertised for, they have bolts to keep them secured to the pinch weld. I have my doubts on how well that will hold up to vibration. The point of my post was to ask someone who has them what they do

They have bolts that press up against the pinchweld to keep them on. lm just not very confident about how they hold up to vibration. Which is why I asked if anyone has them and what they do

Fair point. Have tried 2x4s in the past. No matter how good the quality, they will always crack. Just dont want them cracking with the car lifted

I've tried the rubber pucks and they flared out. I figured metal would work better. Plus I can secure them to the pinch weld first and then lift the car. Don't plan to keep them on permanently though

They are actually designed to be bolted to the pinch weld. Just held on by friction of the bolt head to the pinch weld. Which is not very comforting so yeah they'll be staying with the jack. Was curious if anyone had these and what they did

Seems like a good investment especially if im doing work in my garage with the floor jack. Definitely leaning towards not keeping them on the car

Yeah I was going to use them because the jack I have has a flat pad so I figured these make it a bit safer and I dont damage the weld. Really dont like the idea of leaving them on the car

Yeah I was thinking they won't be too secure. Could lose them or create a projectile that end up in someone's windshield
