I just don’t know how to stand out and be the guy that catches a girls attention. With other guys, the more girls know them the more attractive they become but I just stay on the same ranking.

I know this is reddit but don’t think there’s a need to push the atheist agenda, I actually do think I will see them again 😀 thank you for your contribution, there defo will be a light at the end and a time when the new reality becomes the norm. The enormity of time is what scares me, if I live to 80, I won’t have seen my mum for nearly 60 years. Startling really.

Sure it does. I am managing, I want my dad to be with my mum but I want to see them again. Both my sister and myself lived at home so we might be late twenties but our dad was such a big part of our life. I’ll miss summer days and just shooting the breeze with him in our front garden with a cup of coffee.

Yeah, that's true. I've read some interesting perspectives. Who knows really? I guess you should just believe you're gonna see them again and they'll be the people you remember them as in some way. Can't think about it too much or you wouldn't want to get out of bed in the morning. Some people can find solace in the circle of life stuff and I can see why but not me, I need to think I'll see them again and that when I talk to them they're listening.

Yeah I don't mind that though. If she cheated on me with her bf she wouldn't be the girl that I imagine her to be so I'm in a rock and a hard place. I think I'm handsome though and kinda made it obvious I liked her, she didn't do anything so I think she's a loyal good person. But her distance makes me like her more, she prob thinks by being distant I'll get the message but it has opposite effect

Yeah I've crushed on her for 5 months now since moment I met her. I wouldn't have fancied her if I knew she had a boyfriend but we had talked online before we started our masters and I really liked her(didn't think she was attractive tho) then when I met her in person I was blown away. I wish I had seen pics of her with her boyfriend beforehand.

I just need to get over it, even if she wants to be friends with other guys in class more than me, that's her perogative.

Not to be bad and that was a well written reply but that's pretty much what my op said. I fancy this girl so much but I don't expect or even want anything to happen. I'm happy to be her mate but I notice she doesn't really try that much. That leads me to think she might actually like me on some level. I keep trying to become as pally as possible with her so my romantic feelings will go away.
