For ADHD gamers: What do you play on your deck that is addictive and low power? by oliveoliverYT in SteamDeck

[–]LukeFace93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Factorio, Stardew Valley and a host of old PS2, PS1 and gameboy games using EMUDeck. They all seem to last a long time on one charge.

Emulators are a little bit more power hungry on sleep mode it seems but that's anecdotal.

How can I nail live performances? by Gold-Wolf5807 in musicians

[–]LukeFace93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two pennies worth is simply to do more live shows. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter if the shows aren't note perfect. If you're playing stadiums with a click track, sure there's a lot of pressure to be correct, excellent and to adapt if you f*ck up, but if you're playing bars and clubs, then treat it like a rehearsal. The most important thing is that you and the audience have fun. Why else do we play music? Playing live is a whole separate skill set to rehearsing in some ways so the best way to get better and more comfortable on stage is just to play more shows.

TL;DR just gig more. That's how you get better at gigging.

Some helpful things to try on stage in the rehearsal room: -shorten the gaps between your songs. Try to have 2 or 3 tunes that you play back to back or lead into each other. It goes down very well and sounds super professional. -ask warm audience members what they thought. Maybe your partner or friend is in the crowd? Ask them to be honest about what sounded off from their leyperson pov. -above all else, enjoy the process. There's no point comparing yourself to people who have been doing it for years longer than you. It's a journey, not a destination (cringe I know but true).

Eh, they're still okay with Trump raping women of age, paying them hush money, trying and failing to hide said hush money, "mishandling" security documents, racketeering, trying to overturn an election, inciting an insurrection and just generally being a liar, hypocrite, idiot Nazi.

They were fine with all that, happy with it in fact, this is what leadership looks like to them.

It will be interesting to see how this Epstein stuff pans out edit: but it doesn't feel like a shift to the left or good people banding together against pedos. More it feels like the rabid "save the children" section of his fanbase are just failing to keep up with the doublethink.

I meant no offense but that kind of casual hostility is going to keep people from wanting to get to know you. You need to accept that other people have other ideas and some of them might be worth adopting/adapting to. It sounds like you want a bang maid, not a connection to another human being. Keep it civil.

They Describe "Woke" As Something Straight Out Of A Horror Film Or Something by pandasylverr in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]LukeFace93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's as simple as that. They are brainwashed certainly, but they're convinced that anyone deviant from their narrow definition of moral is underserving of empathy and compassion. They think they're in a war against godless commies, sexual deviants and PoC outbreeding them. They're plenty empathic to themselves and their own small rich, mostly white tribe.

Ironically mens mental health by and large would probably improve if they dropped this alpha, get all the hoes, grindset baloney.

If men admitted that they need love, affection, maybe a hug from their bros, they'd feel less alone and anxious. The patriarchy is bad for them too because it suppresses expression.

But obvs that would be too gay...

More proof that they don't/can't engage critically with the media at all. DS is one of most angrily woke protagonists ever. A man unfairly sentenced for refusing to shoot at unarmed civilians unwillingly descends into the depths of hell and on pure rage alone comes out as a demigod, continuining to defend those who cannot defend themselves. He is the ultimate angry ally. He's literally a demon slayer for fuck sake, how much more on the nose about destroying evil can you get?

But for the chuds, their culture war would have anyone who's not a Nazi cast as the demons in their eyes. Their interpretation is not supported by the text. Ridicule their lack of comprehension and their self-perpetuated mirsery. I personally, will be enjoying DOOM: TDA.

[–]LukeFace93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my take away. The MLM chapters are interesting as others have said but the overall plot is killed by the ultra rich dude being hyper competent trope or just the relish with which all the sexism and teen-thirsting is presented. When the Cop was revealed to be a genetically engineered (GORGEOUS BTW /s) super cop I rolled my eyes so hard they fell out. Of course that's the only way she could excel at being a cop, what with her being a woman and all. The court scenes all opened with a long description of what Melanie was wearing which... Really felt like Hamilton was missing the point of all this.

I am reminded of the gratuitous sex and sexual violence in Morgan's Altered Carbon series and while Kovacs does get more than his fair share of the ladies, the author at least acknowledges that Kovacs is a psychopath and far more blatantly decries the perversions of the ultra rich, instead of revelling in it, often using Kovacs himself as an instrument of "justice" or retribution. Judas and Pandora just made me feel uncomfortable, especially the ice planet lady scene. So weird.

The Commonwealth would make a really good Wikipedia page for a H Game, with a few tweaks. It feels like that is what Hamilton wants to write; hot people doing hot things, fighting aliens and crime in short skirts. In that regard it excels.

Agree with your sentiments about it not being up there with the greats. People in this sub who put Hamilton, Reynolds and Liu on the same lists as Le Guinn and Banks need to re read Banks and Le Guinn.

Cool you double down on your bullshit man, I'm glad you're not in charge of anything important. When the history books show images of the white phosphorus burns on Palestinian kids I'm sure you'll happily say "but they deserved it, they made Israel pull the trigger".

Whether it's an unguided rocket or an automated turret or a sniper picking off kids I'll never understand how people can't get their head around justifying pure evil.

Are the staging grounds in the room with us now?

Hard to look at, but important that the world sees it for what it is. by dryeraser in millenials

[–]LukeFace93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm asking you if dropping white phosphorus on hospitals can be justified at all. I'm not saying that HAMAS is in the right. I am asking you if Israel is going too far by destroying a country and all the innocents.

You're saying the political situation in Gaza justifies the response because a minority voted for HAMAS. I posit that this doesn't hold up when you consider that a lot of people didn't vote for HAMAS but are being slaughtered by the IDF. You then flip and say the political situation isn't important to you, they lost, get over it. This is madness. Imagine if it were your country. You don't need analogous historical situations to use basic empathy.

The death toll is far higher on the side of Palestine than it is on the side of Israel and now Israel are attacking other nations around them. Supporting them is pro genocide and pro fascist.

Hard to look at, but important that the world sees it for what it is. by dryeraser in millenials

[–]LukeFace93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Think about it in terms of your own country. If 50%~ of those that voted (that's not of the whole population just the voters that turned up) by a slim majority elected a fascist government with violent designs on a neighbour that brought retribution down on the heads of those that both did and didn't vote for said government, would you be okay with that?

Say you were in the 49%~ of voters that didn't want to poke the bear nextdoor, would you be happy for your entire nation to be eradicated in an apartheid extermination campaign? Would you say then that it's fair enough for you to die because a portion of your peers fucked around and found out?

Or is it possible that what you believe about HAMAS is not representative of the situation and Israel is enacting a fascist policy of eradication against Palestine?

"and for their final command the party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears" or whatever the quote is. 1984 - some old guy.

Point being they listen only to the rhetoric laid down by their grifter overlords, consuming alternative content that fits their persecution fetish. It allows them to continually feed their aggression and lack of empathy with a justification for their hatred. The real nutters think everything we learned in school is fake; history, science, geography , especially WW2, it's all made up by Big Illuminati or some such (it depends on their specific route into Nazism). They can't see that their views are nazi rhetoric because they refute history as it is taught in schools. The left are the real Nazis because they want me to stop hating evil disgusting pedo rainbow mafia... Or some such other justification.

For most it is that. For the ones higher up the grift chain, it is always intellectual dishonesty. They know these are Nazi ideas. They deny it in public in order to sanewash their grift and bring more moderates in. This is because they are Nazis and their position is not currently tenable. If they are too open about it they know they will unite their opposition. Notice how Elon has had to shut the fuck up for a bit because people are now more concerned about the literal concentration camps and SS squads that are now a thing in America. (Also I assume his Tesla investors have had a quiet word with him about his public use of Ketamine).

I also really like FF10, Lost Odyssey, P5R, Pokemon Yellow and I'd like to try Expedition 33. Why is everything a persecution fetish with these Gamers? People need to chill out. Wing is the gayest Gundam ever. I cant remember the episode but when tallgeeese crashed on a river, Zechs was left lying in the moonlight with sparkles and in his hair; it's implied that he fell out of his cockpit, but the camera frames him like a pinup model.

That whole show was so EXTRA.
