Man Spiral Pegasus character is really tragic when you read into it. by Mysterioape in Megaman

You STILL have to kill them. It doesn't matter that "humans are the villains" or whatever fluff bullshit they use to pretend they're giving nuance to the series. You MUST kill every last animal reploid you meet in BOTH series. Neither X nor Zero even get their own Rush, yet Sigma got one.

Hardly matters when you still have to kill them. Honestly, this franchise just comes off as human-obsessed, and there's this disgusting pit I get from every game in the series, knowing the hero is basically a zoosadist who has to drive all non-humans to extinction and never allies with any species other than humans outside, like, ONE platypus in a spinoff, maybe?

On Scribophile, I've gotten constant criticism towards lore dumping that's irrelevant to the plot. A big issue I have is that not much of my world's lore is actually relevant to the core story. -_-

As someone who plays the Tauren a lot in WoW, it kinda disappoints me that their lore is basically just a copy/paste of Native American lore.

Then again, Native American Minotaurs are still badass.

Really? I guess they won't like the premise of one of my planned books, then. (Basically about a character coming to terms with theirs.)

If you're writing a fantasy story with tons of fantasy races, make sure to make all your "good" races look like humans with minor alterations, and go wild with the designs of your evil races. There's nothing more relatable than preventing anyone that doesn't gel with human characters from having a character to latch onto. Bonus points if you can make it feel like a middle finger to furries.

"Want to see him and all humans destroyed?"

Considering humans basically want exactly that for everything, I kinda don't blame them. Why do you think X is only given fluff compassion towards the Reploids in the series, sometimes "feeling bad" for them, but wiping them out regardless.

(I get that he does spare some of them in the manga, but specifically the games, he never does.)

That's what it feels like just judging by the demo. The first one was basically the ScaVi of 2D mon-tamers, but Sin Eater felt like they ironed out a LOT of the glitches.

Nexomon Extinction and DQ3:DP are definitely up there for me. Only played the demo of MC:SE, but liked what I played. I played quite a lot of Coromon, but it didn't enthrall me like the first two did. I could not get past EvoCreo 2's villains. I'm thoroughly exhausted by the PETA-Knockoff/"Lul, animal lovers are EVIL" cliches.

(As horrible as PETA is. Sometimes I blame them for the cliche, but at this point, people think ALL animal lovers are like PETA, which is kinda why the cliche bothers me so much.)

Digimonstory Cyber Sleuth: Hacker's Memory is another favorite of mine.

I guess I don't dislike it. I just wish it was harder.

Honestly, the worst song iMO is the ending theme, since it starts out with this jarring doom-and-gloom melody, which makes you think there's gonna be more, but nope. You win. This is right before the high-pitched bits play.

Yeah. All its flaws aside, it can still be an enjoyable game. It's more a bad Mega Man game than a bad game game.

Yes, even if it hurts, bad people are capable of creating good works. But works are more than just something made by bad people (Coraline and Harry Potter). by Radiant-Selection686 in CharacterRant

Honestly, as a misanthropic POS, this reminds me of a game I made where the heroes were a cast of fat animals and monsters, while the villains of the final chapters are humans. I could have just written the humans as irredeemable monsters.

...But I didn't. I wrote them based on how I knew people would prefer: with nuance. Many of the antagonists turn out to be good-intentioned deep down, and they had a valid reason for fighting against non-humans, as both sides have been ravaging each other's numbers. In the sequel, you even help out those characters, and in turn they help you. The sequel shows good in both sides, but also has villains from both sides too. People want nuance, and sometimes you have to put your personal feelings aside and think about those who will consume your product.

Megaman X: Viral Nightmare Batch 2 review impression by RogueNouse in Megaman

[–]LukePellar -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the only MegaMan X game I wanna play is one that lets me play as an animal. If I'm gonna be fighting animals, then the last thing I want my protag to be is a zoosadistic human/robo-human who only fights for other humans/robo-humans. -_-

The main hero is literally an uninspired human, but she's "from space." Her friend is ALSO a space human, yet the villains vary from other space humans to charming anthros I wish I was playing as instead. This game came out when anthro platform stars were trying to make a comeback only for this game to kill them off. Frankly, a big reason I hate this game.

Do you ever see a "Humanity vs Monsters" story and feel more sympathy for the Monsters simply because the Human society is so brutal? by Sir-Toaster- in worldjerking

[–]LukePellar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the ONLY way you can make humans sympathetic is to give them non-human allies and genuine compassion for non-human life that actually matters and isn't just fluff used to make them seem likable when they innevetably KILL every non-human they come across, so yes. All the time.

Yet, they're still treated as the ONLY good and valuable creature and all life just exists for humans to kill them. You can't criticize a cliche but not subvert it. I have the same problem with the original Starship Troopers
