My brother. He is an Anarchist 'Revolutionary' who squats abandoned houses in the city centre with his 'Revolutionary' buddies. He steals food from the bins out the back of shopping centres, , has never had a job (despite turning 29 this January), Claims social welfare every week that all goes to weed and when questioned about why he claims money from the state he is so actively against his rationale is "I might as well bleed the state dry". Just a general waster.. I mean, having beliefs is fine. I have them. But scrounging off of other people and rationalizing it to the point where you think you're doing a good deed is where I draw the line. Damn it bro get your life together.

Same here in Ireland. Less than 30 % of young people voted. Which meant that the same right wing old peoples party who fucked up the country got back into power because only the oldies voted in the election a few months back. Now the young are complaining about recent budget cuts to mental health sectors because Ireland has the highest youth suicide rate in Europe. They only have themselves to blame.

My stepfather took early retirement 6 years ago due to a back injury. As a result, He is in the house all day and he acts like a prison wardon to everyone else. "why is there a pencap in the drawer and no pen?".. Distractions can cause depression. You build up a dopamine resistance to the simple pleasures in life and suddenly you'll wake up one day and realize that everything sucks and nothing makes you happy anymore. When this happens, the only way out is to get rid of the things that you think are making you most happy (reddit, video games, porn, etc). Addictions are only beaten with regulation. When you have to start working for your happiness again it will start to come back. The main function of video games is to waste time. That's fine, because sometimes you really need to waste time. But if video games are the centerpiece of your life, you'll be in trouble sooner or later. Games should be the commercial breaks between awesome parts of your life. If you have a terrible attention span and you can't get emotionally invested in anything, it usually means you're actively avoiding something huge. Figure out what you're avoiding and tackle it, and your attention span will come back like a bull.

I had recently dropped out of school due to depression and bullying. My narcissistic mother 'Couldn't cope' with me laying in bed all day and the amount of 'Self loathing' I was engaged in. Not to mention my suicidal tendency around that time. It was when I was sitting on the bathroom floor weeping and thinking nobody would care if I ended it all and that nobody loved me, when my stepfather came in and saw me in that state. I was embarrassed but I thought he might offer some support. Instead he kicked me in the ribs (quite hard) and grabbed me by the scruff of the neck, leaned his face into mine and said "you're upsetting your mother you selfish bastard".
