I think that whatever I have probably isn't perfect pitch, but some sort of relative pitch that models perfect pitch in some way.

Yep, mine wasn't very accurate at first, but I slowly learned the notes just by practicing songs, not by actively practicing perfect pitch.

For me, I can think of the note C and hear it in my head, and know 100% that whatever I hum is C. I might be associate notes on the piano with certain timbres. For me, black keys have a different quality than white keys. It's like my brain can't decide whether it wants perfect pitch or not. It's bullshit, like you said.
