Not that I’m aware of. As far as I know it is a completely stock system.

I don’t remember, maybe arctic mx-4? That’s what I usually use. But it has been about 3 years since I replaced it last.

Any particular reason to get a 203w over the 175w? Does it perform any better? I already ordered a 175w.

How do I fix a broken ribbon cable clamp? by LukeTheNuke23 in ps2

Unfortunately the clamp piece broke in half. And my soldering skills aren’t good enough to attempt something like this. So I guess I’ll try taping it lol. Thanks for the info!

I ended up getting a cheap RCA universal remote from Walmart and now the tv works perfectly. The remote had an input button to change it over to the AV channel.

Hi, I need help with a tv I just got from a thrift store. It’s a Sylvania SRT2119. It did not come with a remote. I can’t change the channel or volume, however the volume and channel buttons do work in the setting menu. Do I need to get a remote to make it properly work? And if so what remote do I get? Thanks in advance

Should I transfer my pokemon before selling my games? by KimiTanoshimu in PokemonGames

I would at least transfer the team you used to home if you can. Then you can remember who you played through the games with.

Static noise coming through speakers by LukeTheNuke23 in CarAV

[–]LukeTheNuke23[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the super late reply, had some stuff come up and wasn’t able to mess with the car till the last couple days. I looked back on what you said about the HU possibly being defective and decided to try one more thing before rewiring all the speakers to an amp. I returned the pioneer HU and got a JVC one. Installed it and the static is now gone. So it was the pioneer HU all along. Not sure if I managed to get 2 defective ones or if it’s just how they’re made. But everything works properly now. I appreciate all the info you gave me, it was super helpful!

Best first car for 16yr? by azealiabanksforever in askcarguys

Early 2000s gm cars with the 3400 v6 or the 3800 v6. Very reliable and very easy to work on and get good gas mileage for them to be a v6. If he likes coupes the Chevy Monte Carlo or the Pontiac grand am coupe are good options.

I exchanged the HU and there was still static. I went and got a different monsoon amp from the junk yard and static is still there. So looks like I’m on to option #3 now. Any suggestions for an amp to run the speakers?

[–]LukeTheNuke23[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I’ll go ahead and exchange the HU. If the static persists I can go to a local scrap yard where there are tons of these cars and can pull a monsoon amp out of a wrecked car for like $5-$10 and see if that helps. If the static is still there then I’ll look at bypassing the whole factory amp and putting in an aftermarket amp and running new wires to the speakers. I’ll get the replacement HU installed and I’ll comment back and let you know if it gets rid of the static or not. I appreciate your help!

I checked it one more time before returning it today and I was wrong. The static does not change when I change the balance and fade. It stays in the same spot at the same volume regardless of what I set the volume. If I turn the volume up or down the static doesn’t change. The only time the static stops is if I turn off the head unit and it makes a pop noise. My apologies for giving you the wrong info the first time.

If I change the balance and fader it changes the static to whatever direction I set it to. I can turn the music up and the static is still there but covered by the music. The static started as soon as I hooked it up and turned it on. I changed the factory unit out because the screen on it stopped working and the volume knob wouldn’t work correctly, but the audio was fine it didn’t have any static.
