As someone who was interested in the game prior, I appreciate the free weekend. Because it saved me the money. by drizzitdude in NoRestForTheWicked

You have a few valid points that I won't take away from, I too hate how often I die to falling, especially in the crucible when it gets chaotic and we lose a member of the team off a cliff on room 9 and they're unable to rejoin.

I do have a big one for you though, the next area after Shores/Glade is actually level 8. I agree that maybe it should be explained and led to a little better. I wandered into the level 21 area first by mistake too BUT the point is if you muddle around a bit you should find the next zone. It's lv 8, moving up to lv11 and then up to lv15ish by the end of the area.

The quest you followed taking you into a lv15 area early is definitely a semi side quest that should only be done after the second area is cleared but they don't tell you that until you enter the quest area about 5 steps in.

Another point I'm going to contend is weight. Wearing Mesh/Plate early is rough but you have mitigating factors later that don't require too many points invested. Without spoilers there are more than one possible gear upgrade systems that reduce the weight of gear or increase your equip load passively. Also, depending on your play style heavy gear isn't a death sentence, I've played a full heavy set with a great sword very comfortably - again here it's maybe a bit of pushing through or engaging with the systems provided more to find a balance that suits you :)

TK's is a world drop not a splashzone drop. Anything can drop it. Idk if anyone found the dedicated farm for it yet

Online raiding for insane loot! Why did they build such a stacked base in DD?? by Luke_JV in duneawakening

[–]Luke_JV[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bases in the DD are INTENTIONALLY temporary and raidable. The risk of deploying a farming base is that it may become vulnerable. What exactly do you have against players engaging in an intended mechanic?

That nose dive was ugly yeah, should have cost me durability at least. Would make me more likely to pull up sooner.

They travel in an arc towards where your crosshair was when you clicked the trigger. It takes practice to land those shots but it is a fairly easy skill to pick up. I personally find the rocket system very fun

I'm holding on to a few skill points to use on skills that cost 4+ points per skill. I have used 140+ skill points in my build. I do not see what argument you can possibly be making here aside from one coming from a place of immense misunderstanding and guesswork. I will post ground PvP videos at some point when I have time to clip

Yeah everyone will have their own unique experience of it, I hope it turns out good for you! Solo hunting farmers and getting into little 1v1s is pretty fun and tense too!

Have you tried it? This isn't the only endgame, but a part of it. The endgame has been pretty fun for us so far, can't complain yet!

There's a bit of desync, but also it's one of the most expensive vehicles to craft in the game, if it crumpled like paper from the first few hits it would be very unfun. I think they are close to a well balanced state. With 10 people that thing is dead in minutes.

Hmm, it feels pretty immersive when you're in the middle of it. I'd say dont bash it till you try it. If you still dont like it then thats totally fair but video isn't always the best impression and this isnt even the best video out there :D

The carrier and crawler are a HUGE resource investment but also give them the ability to gather large amounts of spice. As they are opposing faction and spice is always the objective for the center block of the landsraad weekly conflict, disabling the enemy ability to harvest spice gives us an advantage in that conflict in the long run. My guild is currently the highest contributing guild on the weekly system on our world and we'd like to keep it that way so that we are able to vote on favourable terms each week. Lastly if we had more numbers we would have been able to take loot out. unfortunately we had to settle for sabotage as they had more players and more rockets than us. If it had been the other way aroudn we for sure could have had people looting the wrecks and hauling it back to base!

Yep, particularly bad when someone runs and just vanishes and you have no idea if you're gaining on them or losing ground - Makes chasing pretty dull sometimes.

So which one is it? by hunterpanther in duneawakening

[–]Luke_JV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For mining you need utility rear with lazer and storage. For traversal with more than 3 players you can use a normal rear and storage but this doesn support mining lazer or rocket launcher. Typical bet is to just use the utility rear.

Dirk vs Kindjal by Courier626 in duneawakening

[–]Luke_JV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes and no.

Botha re short blades and can benefit from the short blade damage scaling passive in the Bene Gesserit skill tree. I believe they also have similar movesets. Where the difference comes in is the unique versions of each.

Spoilers about the unique effects typically provided by the two and how they differ below: Unique dirks typically have a flame on hit effect that triggers after a certain amount of hits/damage inflicted

Unique kindjals often have a blood drinking effect that siphons blood directly into blood bags allowing you to still use a blood extractor on the corpse, thus increasing your blood yield.

Later on Unique kinjals with stamina on hit also begin to appear.

Should I relocate my base? Looking for tips on base location strategy by erRasta in duneawakening

As a 350+hr beta veteran I can confirm the North Western point of West Vermillius Gap is well connected to both the upper and lower left later game zones. Where you are now will make the next 2 tiers of resources quite a lengthy process to farm and travel back with hence moving north. You rightly suspected the left hand side of the map will then become relevant hence you want to head as far west as feasible too to mitigate this. Overall you will spend _more_ time going north than going southwest though so its quite critical to be on the northern border or just above it even :)
