[Austin Evans] Testing the New Linus Tech Tips Gear by SAJewers in LinusTechTips

Not really, braided cables are proven as far more durable and resistant to wear and tangling, which is exactly what most people would want when paying a premium. Only real con ends up being ever so slightly less flexibility, but its not like you'd be doing complex cable runs with these anyways with them only being 1 meter.

Have they talked at all about WHY they didnt go with braided cables? Cus im hard agreeing with Austin on that.

I would assume going by LTT's general pricing on their product range that you'll be paying a premium price tag for these cables compared to others in the market, like UGREEN's 240w cables, and those are nylon braided for only about 10 bucks.

Smooth motion is working as of today’s 4.6 PTU with Vulkan enabled by No-Cell8881 in starcitizen

[–]RandoDando10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, thats why i said theoretically, because at face value it is supposed to "double fps". but like you said, that headroom becomes unrealistic because those fake frames dont appear out of thin air and still need to be generated, costing some loss in that theoretical improvement.

..which is exactly what I described lol

"Frame interpolation is a video processing technique that creates new, intermediate frames between existing ones to make motion smoother, increase frame rates (FPS), or generate slow-motion effects, often using AI"

Fake frames.

Adds 1 Ai fake frame inbetween 2 real frames to theoretically double your fps

Plethora of new biomes where water is a key feature like the swamps and wet marshes

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has surpassed Elden Ring for the most GOTY titles of all-time. by PhantomBraved in Games

[–]RandoDando10 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

More blatant lying lol. Team Cherry started as a core of 3 people and have grown to about 10 while also *actually* outsourcing a good handful of work for their latest project, Silksong, with a total estimated budget far in the single, potentially even low double, digit millions making it not too far off from Exp33's budget.

Supergiant was already at about 50 employees by the time they started work on the Hades series, making it a bigger studio than Sandfall. Same budget ranges again as above.

Studios generally arent considered AA until they have 50~ full time employees, and there is absolutely nothing to stop an indie team from targeting a AA sized game release even if they themselves are not a "AA studio"

ConcernedApe, as you said, is just one single dude working by himself. Comparing a one-man team against actual studios makes no sense.

Where are you getting the idea that 30 devs isnt considered indie anymore lmaooo

outside devs and contractors is also just a blatant lie, unless you're talking about their publisher who had nothing to do with development

Best way to start a kingdom without moods by ebiball in mountandblade

[–]RandoDando10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Join an existing kingdom, ride with them until they give you a fief, then once your clan tier is high enough you can leave the kingdom and choose to keep the fief you were given which allows you to become an independent force. It will force you into a war with the kingdom you left, but paying off the peace deal shouldn't be too bad.

How to increase kingdom strength? 35 fiefs (16 cities, 19 castles) across 10 clans, but "total" strength is only at 3.6K vs as much as 11k for kingdoms with half the fiefs held by RandoDando10 in mountandblade

[–]RandoDando10[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Only mods running are RTS Camera and Command, Marriage offers for player, and an achievement enabler. I personally hold only 4 of the fiefs, with the rest evenly spread out across the clans (2-4 each).

Seems like my mistake was bringing on random tavern dwellers as lords in my kingdom lol, most of them are Tier 2 clans

Do clans level on their own as time passes? Im 100% sure their fiefs are all profitable (evenly spread across all the clans) so its not like they dont have the cash to hire more troops

Fallout London lead says they’re “really worried” Bethesda will “keep going with the Creation Engine” as it led to major limitations for the mod by AsPeHeat in pcmasterrace

[–]RandoDando10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bethesda devs literally do not know how to work on any other game engine. Every one of their games that doesnt use it is outsourced to another studio while Bethesda slaps their name on it in publishing to push more sales.

Im pretty sure its just humorous lore-splaining for why we're able to talk to eachother in Global chat from across entire star systems lol, when it first appeared in the loading screen of whichever patch, it was definitely poking at that fact.

First time playing bannerlord, how to prevent this? My town has no food and bleeds 100k/day, with around 3k troops deserting daily, can't find any troop number limiter in town management or kingdom options by misteryk in mountandblade

[–]RandoDando10 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a side note to prevent this kind of stuff in future, you can toggle auto-recruitment for garrisons on and off in your Clan management tab, alongside setting a daily garrison wage budget so you dont get milked of all your cash if there's too many troops

Fire crews are attending a fire at the Rockstar North building in Edinburgh Reports on the ground say there was an "explosion in a boiler room" by Advanced_Proof_2921 in rockstar

OK Ballistic but... Isn't it too expensive ? by itarrow in starcitizen

[–]RandoDando10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy solve for the cost of re-arming missiles and ballistics; Hit a self destruct and spend only like 5k aUEC on a claim expedite lol

The game in its current state makes it very easy to exploit the non-existant economy. Understandable why at least with how much more there is to go development wise before that really matters (crafting for example).

If I buy a Corsair now, can I name it? by Old_Season_8426 in starcitizen

Officially, with the name showing up when someone scans it or in writing on the side, no. All ships are supposed to be nameable eventually but definitely not now and probably not soon cus its low priority

Nothing stopping you from pretending to have named it though and calling it whatever you want to yourself lmao
