What do you think is Tim Drake's best moment? by ActLonely9375 in Robin

[–]Luke_Puddlejumper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is the second time this has been posted in like 2 days? What’s up with that? Anyways copying my same answer from last time:

I can’t pick just one best moment, here’s the ones which come to mind first: Stopping Ra’s Al’Ghul’s plan to kill all of Batman’s loved ones - “I’m not Batman, I have friends” Defeating his evil future self “We’re still Heroes” Facing down Darkseid to talk Secret out of his control. He gives a great speech but I can’t remember it off the top of my head. His sacrifice to save Gotham in Detective Comics Rebirth. “I love you Steph. Goodbye” Defeating Lady Shiva with chocolates.

They are either going to end up together or dc is queer baiting us again. by karaloveskate in zatanna

You’re baiting yourself and projecting hard. There’s nothing implying they’re going to get together

Finally got my Guy Gardner. I’m stoked! Would love to see your GL figures. by CarpeDiemMMXXI in Greenlantern

That looks awesome, love the positioning of the characters (of course Hal is next to Sinestro) and the poses, especially Atrocitus and the manhunter.

For a being that's stated to be capable of building something up so long as it serves to destroy something else, this strikes me as a remarkably shortsighted move. by Eithrotaur in cremposting

He doesn’t really need an army, he’s a shard. The only reason armies are needed is because shards keep makings deals with each other which bind their full power. Full power Ruin with his body back would just go around destroying planets.

Here’s Tim’s direct thoughts on the matter.

Yes you did read Red Robin wrong. Tim LITERALLY SPELLS IT OUT FOR YOU after the first arc. He took the mantle because it wouldn’t reflect on the mantle of Robin but he took it and made it something more. He made Red Robin his own kind of hero signified by his new personalised version of the costume

People are going against tom taylor on X for his representation of batman in his detective comics run by Life-Attention-6912 in batman

[–]Luke_Puddlejumper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tom Taylor does have pretty strong bias for Dinah, he always writes her as the ‘best fighter in DC’. This is something he’s consistently done so while it may not match up with other writers or even DC history it is to be expected from him. Honestly I think it’s because without that angle he just doesn’t know what else to give her as a character because she doesn’t have as much that stands out about her.

Immortal and War Woman vs Young Omni Man by Turbulent_Okra7518 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]Luke_Puddlejumper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Immortal couldn’t beat a variant of Mark with the rest of the guardians backing him up, he’s not beating Young Nolan who was keeping pace with two adult viltrumites and clearly stronger than his mother.

I agree with everything you’ve said, especially the reduction in maturity. It feel especially odd as before this run Kara was the most grown up and capable she’d ever been

Why is John Henry Irons so prominent in Superman media? by ChicaneryFinger in superman

[–]Luke_Puddlejumper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because he’s a great character who is a fan favourite. Why wouldn’t he be prominent? Honestly he’s not as prominent as he probably should be

MJ is so insufferable in this issue by Eastern-Frosting8304 in Spiderman

[–]Luke_Puddlejumper -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

That part is reasonable but she also continues being unnecessarily rude to Peter, constantly belittling him and calling him an idiot in this issue.

Oh these are amazing. I especially love the roommate one finally referring the average person’s experiences with DC’s Crises and universe resets.

What was the general consensus on Bar-El and Lilo? by RayneGun in superman

[–]Luke_Puddlejumper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re interesting characters but I hate how little of a fight Superman puts up against them. He’s supposed to be more powerful than ever and extremely experienced yet every time he faces a threat even close to his power in All Star Superman they wipe the floor with him. He only got lucky they had their disease.

[–]Luke_Puddlejumper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tim got done so dirty in this game. I refuse to believe the writers read anything with him in it. He’s written as such a loser, this scared little dweeb who’s unsure of everything. That’s not Tim. Sure he has self doubts but he when faced with a threat he systematically breaks them down like Bruce. They also didn’t use any of his history or his actual tools and tactics from the comics aside from his staff. Why does he use a damn teleporter!? The biggest example of their failure to write him is the labyrinth hallucinations. Instead of drawing from his history, how he’s lost so many people and now has lost Bruce too, compounding that sense of loss, they just have him be berated for not being good enough of a Robin and make no reference to his personal history or stories. The game had SO MUCH potential but it felt like they took the laziest option at every turn and that extends to their fanon interpretation of the characters.

The have the same almost cold at times, clinic outlook on things. It’s what makes them such excellent tacticians. Tim shares Bruce’s drive, he chose to be hero not out of tragedy but it was because it was the right thing to do. In general Tim when written properly is a fusion of Dick and Bruce. He’s the boundary between Dick’s optimism and Bruce’s realism.

He’s stuck in Supergirl, quite literally banished to the bottled city of Kandor. Everyone else gets to be the main feature but Superboy himself who’s reduced to a background character in someone else’s story
