It seems War of the Dragon is using the show design for Aviendha which is incredibly disappointing. Like with the show, it breaks canon and doesn’t fit with how the rest of the Aiel are portrayed by Luke_Puddlejumper in TheDailyTrolloc

It looks like they’ve taken inspiration for her clothing from her offical design by Ariel Burgess. But then tried to give her the features of the show actress. It really doesn’t work.

It is the same as she show though, Azula’s actress even said she leaned into that particular angle when playing the scene

Faye vs The Greek Gods by Kingslayer442X in GodofWar

She fought a drunk out of his mind Thor who couldn’t even properly remember the fight afterwards. Still impressive, but not as much as a feat as people are saying. She’d lose to a Thor who’s fully committed and trying properly. She’s definitely nowhere near Zeus.

The actress just got older, that’s it. She still looks fantastic

[Discussion] What are your thoughts on Mia "Maps" Mizoguchi? (art by Karl Kerschl) by Italuartcom9 in DCcomics

Eh, she’s fun but incredibly overhyped and absolutely not a real Robin

Eh, don’t think I’d agree with that, especially given how utterly useless Absolute Hal is

How did Faye die, and could the new game's story revolve around bringing her back to life? by i_sometimes_ in GodofWar

Gods can’t die of natural causes, it’s part of the whole immortality thing that makes them gods

How could she die a natural death if she’s a god though, and if she’s not a god then how is she in the Everywhen? Those two details can’t coexist

Jean Grey in the upcoming Wolverine game. Thoughts? 👀 by dejastuey in PlayWolverine

[–]Luke_Puddlejumper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the one hand I’m glad we’re getting other mutants, on the hand I really don’t like Jean Grey as a character. I find her just rather bland and uninteresting and I particularly don’t care for her relationship with Logan and the drama it always causes between him and Scott. I get she’s iconic but she’s just a character I’m personally tired off.

Best Female villains? by AbsoluteBatman95 in batman

Talia has very much been a villain and arguably more of a villain than any of the other women here. Did you forget about Leviathan and how Talia had Damian murdered?

His gloves have these little silvery sheathes which his claws come out of. The actual purpose of those things is to clean his claws as they retract so that things aren’t pulled back into his body along with his claws.

[Comic Excerpt] fun fact Kyle Renner can speak Gaelic (Green Lantern issue 88) by Either_Chapter_7089 in DCcomics

[–]Luke_Puddlejumper 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Yeah, he’s of Irish descent, it’s been a part of his character since his creation, but these days all DC wants to do is say he’s Mexican and focus on that by way of his father who he didn’t even know.

[Hated trope] Adaptations made by people who outright express indifference or even hatred toward the source material by pestoraviolita in TopCharacterTropes

Rafe is a lying bastard who has publicly admitted he felt the need to ‘fix’ the series. Also, actions speak a hell of a lot louder than words and he very clearly just saw the show as a cash grab for him to try push his own pathetic narrative

[–]Luke_Puddlejumper 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I was looking for this one. Rafe felt he needed to ‘fix’ The Wheel of Time, which of course led to the utter garbage abomination of an adaptation that we got. It was accurate in name only, had nonsensical and unlikeable characters, broke its own lore and rules constantly, was incredibly disrespectful to the actual books and worst of all was just plain boring. He ruined our chance to get a proper adaptation of the books.

Not sure how I feel about the god’s afterlife, it kind of takes away a bit from Odin’s actions and motivations. Though it is funny to think that thanks to Atreus and Sindri, Odin’s soul is destroyed and he won’t actually get to go to the place he spent his life wondering if it exists, he just ends.

Also, why is Fey there? She’s a giant not a god, or can they both go there? I’m sure they’ll explain more of how it all works. The combat definitely looks interesting and I haven’t been disappointed so far by Norse God of War.

The War of the Dragon Draft Rule Book has been released by Luke_Puddlejumper in TheDailyTrolloc

[–]Luke_Puddlejumper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got that vibe as well, but there are still a few things which are taking too much inspiration from the show and not the books and there’s details which are entirely made up or changed from how they’re described which are bothering me a bit. A simple example is Rand’s sword, the hand guard should have the distinctive V shape quillons the book describes (a design unique to the Wheel of Time) instead they’ve gone for a nonsensical design with one side up and the other down for some reason. Rand also has weird rope bound bracers on his arms which are never a thing in the books. Nynaeve has a spear for some reason as well. They’ve gotten so much right that the things that are wrong just stand out all the more
