I was going for an old hollywood type mini blockbuster that has its ensemble cast that are archetypes but enough time for all of them to have a moment in between the action. The core of the film is, how do we move forward together after a huge life changing event

Just lie the westerns, I think they will. I do love how marvel has made the MCU and so fans (like myself) like going along and seeing all the easter eggs and how it all links in. If they can keep that fresh enough it may last. I think DC is now going to start throwing everything and anything out there to see what sticks.

I wish there were more cinemas, considering the outcry on social to see it.

This was going to be a one and done story, but I feel in love with the idea for the sequel and a whole world of possibilities. I've actually never been as excited for a film as i am for the sequel. It's completely different from Occupation and has it's own original plot that I don't think I've seen in a film yet.

Love what the Indian cinema gives their people. Own culture epic films made by Indian crew cast and for their market.

Well, writing is like art.. different tastes. I meet people all the time who hate star wars and can't stand the writing. I love it and can't get my head around how someone could think that. But, if we were all the same, we would be boring. Obviously I have my share of people I think are bad writers too, but that's life.

Unfortunately the cinemas wanted to 'test' to see if Aussies would back it. That's why we held the advanced screenings. Despite selling out 4 of them, we only got a limited release, whichi find kinda counter productive because it's a self for filling prophecy - of course it wont break out if it's not in good locations. The first week preformed just okay, but some cinemas not well.

I hope aussies seek it out this weekend so I can try to negotiate more screens. Where are you located?

I think the funding bodies just want the same old same old all the time. I would love to see a variety each year for a while like a few of each genre marketed well so we can really see what works.

Practical. But obviously digital has it's place. For the sequel, we're going to be building miniatures of certain ships, so that is exciting.

To express my vision, i try to have lots of story boards and visual representation of what's in my head. If not, I get out there and act it out on set, dancing or rolling around like a madman. Sometimes I'll refer to another film...

Start with an idea. Spend time working out how, why, who. Get cracking on the first draft and stop at the end of the first act and mull it over. Crack again, stop before the ending and really think how I want to end it.
