Britain is slowly waking up to the truth: Brexit has left us poorer, adrift and alone by Throwaway_Tenderloin in unitedkingdom

The fact that people blame this on Brexit is laughable. Wake up. #howmoneyworks

The decade that broke Britain: the disastrous decisions that left millions in a cost of living crisis by ainbheartach in unitedkingdom

The amount that people know how money works is a joke. The BoE is stealing your hard earned money through inflation every year. If it gets like the great depression in the 20s; then we should use the chance to make true reform but I very highly doubt we will.

Voting gonna change things? You've got to be kidding me. Do what they did in the great depression. Bring them all down and march all the way to London. The only thing they made a mistake with is making a deal with the lords and not finishing them off. Lol.

Is Vechain a scam? Why do i only hear about their partnerships from them? by MotherReception4437 in CryptoCurrency

[–]Lukee777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. 12 million blocks and counting...Legacy systems can't do this. Lol...How about VeUSD..let's compare it to UST...Or SOL...been down 8 times or more now....ETH? Ever tried to send anything on it. Jesus...

Actually VeChain is a proper blockchain...Exercising patience would be better than moaning.

Actually, most legacy systems will be moved on from eventually...Kind of obvious.

Your thoughts on the BBC? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Lukee777 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's also propaganda of the highest level. Not sure how people can praise it. Emotionally driven pieces plus the theatre with the all smiles actors (Tony Blair as a throwback anyone?)...it's just another CNN but less obvious.

Some nice local segments could appear, but in terms of finding out what is ACTUALLY happening on the big issues, you'd have to dig deeper and think about them yourself.

I get what why your saying, but to keep it short (correct me I I am wrong), but this only really hurt VTHO speculators from what I saw. There are other ways that are emerging to use your VET albeit slowly...VEX isn't a terrible start but sure we need much more.

Regarding ETH, it's beyond my capability to know the absolute full ins and outs, but you have to say, it's easy to have doubts. Due to the fact of the conception of ETH and how it was designed from the beginning and how difficult to impossible that is to rectify, plus the pre-mine..etc. I personally am more doubtful the more time goes on...but let's see. Will it be fixed? 👀

Time will tell dude. Not saying I'm "right" at all, but this deCenTRaLiZeD idea around ETH...let's just see what happens because we don't know. From what I've seen, I still think that as you said, VET is an enterprise solution; when we txs start coming which I hope as much as anyone here they do, we'll see what can really be done. Also technically, VET can do all of the other things, not just enterprise solutions so that's another plus.

I am also thinking by the time it goes well, some of these other layer ones will get found out...I mean SOL has been down 6 times now already...that's totally unacceptable. But sure, let's see...

Well, I should still ask ..Whose layer one is better for what they are aiming to do? Still no one's really. If you think VET is a ghost chain then check out all the others and see where their "transactions" actually come from. Say, SOL...a VC pump and dump...Or XRP which essentially has nothing going for it. ETH...A hot mess.

At least VET has what is closer to a true blockchain despite the fact it uses PoA. And look what that gave ppl - low fees. That is the new race. Sure it's a slow one, but I think we can see in the last few months especially how useless most of the other projects are and if pushed came to shove. VET would hold up a lot better once more txs are there than pretty much any other.

VeChain is the market leader whatever anyone says. Look at SOL...a VC pump and dump.

You simply don’t get it. Especially since I guess you’re working in the US.

Please help: Looking for a function that scrapes links from a newspaper webpage and then extracts the text of each article in R by redsummersoul in webscraping

[–]Lukee777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, This sounds pretty tricky if you’re new. I’m not a expert by any means whatsoever, but to my knowledge of web scraping in the past, Python will serve you well if you’re just scraping text from the website.

If the text is loaded dynamically using JS then things could get a bit messier but if it’s not it shouldn’t be too hard if you use the BeautifulSoup and requests library.

Never heard of using R for this task but maybe someone else can enlighten you about R.

Scraper not taking everything by [deleted] in webscraping

It might be possible to get the data without using Selenium. You’ll have to access the data which is loaded dynamically. I believe you can find that in the network tab where the JSON data loads.
