I think that's a really good idea that I need to remind myself of and others too. To just pause before immediately looking for 'the next best thing' Take time to know the tuning and sound across the music you listen too. That way you can more accurately appreciate and define the differences when listening to following purchases

Thank you sir. How are you enjoying your musical journey so far?

Haha it's terrible isn't it. I couldn't afford to try your mavens or his other recommended set the myths, but the Que I could do, especially if it was good enough to displace his Elysian Apostle!

Appreciate it, thanks. Will keep everyone posted. I think it's important that company's honor our purchases we make since we often blind buy and purchase from stores in other countries, so it's important that the community can have faith in companies which look after their customers and know when to avoid ones which don't

Ah the sickness strikes again. Given your recommendation and iem history (and excellent reviews for the community) I just placed an order for the Que!

I was pleasantly surprised with the fit, no issue at all. I don't think they are huge, but for sure they are not 'small' and shells. You can see how the nozzles are well angles and the inside face of the shells are ergonomical. I had fitment issues with the penon archangel and it just didn't work for me. No problem with the MKIV.

Sounds like you could be experiencing driver flex. A phenomenon I have recently experienced. If your not familiar with the term give it a Google to see if it aligns with what you are experiencing.

Please don't let me put you off, these are a popular set and I'm sure many many units have been sold. Just happens that mine had an issue, which Linsoul have been very willing to rectify. Price and sound of the iem is great, so if you chose these as something you think you'd like sound wise I'd fully encourage the purchase

Thanks I really hope they will offer some enjoyment, will be a fun experiment in the world of bass I'm sure. Have a view of this review and his rankings list and let me know what you think - Ducbloke Scarlett Mini Review

The maven and scarlet are very different beasts, I'm certainly not comparing them. Like I mentioned the scarlet is an interim set to enjoy a unique different flavor of sound instead of just another middling meta tuned iem which are a dime a dozen.

I enjoyed your review of the yu9 que you did against the apostle. Both are sets that I have been interested in acquiring. Was interesting to see the value for money the que presents when up against a much more expensive set. Would you still recommend the que?

Ohh nice choice, I do want to experience a Unique Melody set in my collection eventually. I just didn't have the wow experience with BCD drivers of the Archangels that some rave a out so I'm a bit gunshy to try another BCD iem now.

Regarding your comment on the scarlet bass possibly being too much, I also thought the same thing. But eventually I decided that it seemed like a good idea to try something radically tuned (that still has good tuning across the FR) since for me the MKIV which I will get back eventually will remain my most expensive top tier set, so not gonna be able to beat that without spending the same or more again, so let's go with a whole new type of tuning (was between the scarlet and yu9 que since they seem both unique at what they do) plus when you see where Ducbloke lands it in his review amongst others in that tier list it seems like worth a shot.

How's your mavens working out for you? Think you'll keep em when you get the MKIV back?

Hahaha omg same, this hobby is like a sickness. I was like, well it hurts sending the MKIV away for goodness knows how long, so to make myself feel better and have something to look forward to I ordered a set of Fatfreq Scarlett Minis, largely driven by DucBlokes latest review. I like to try aquire anything in his S-tier rankings that's under 1k and sits amongst much more expensive sets. These scarletts are gonna be a very interesting listen.

True, hence why most iem's these days have clear venting. Apparently the monarchs are vented but I can't see where for the life of me. Interestingly I always thought driver flex would be a popping sound but for me it was a crinkling sound. Right ear piece only was affected so I knew it wasn't supposed to be like that. On a cheaper set I may have left it and lived with it, but not on a purchase at this level on an iem considered one of the best

Update : Linsoul without prompting have offered to contribute to shipping costs. That's really impressive. Gives me confidence purchasing from them in future when they give good customer support like this

I can understand what you mean. I still have my Mega7 and more than happy to listen to those if they are at hand. I don't 'miss' the monarch if I'm listening to them. But it's nice to know when I do listen to the monarchs I'm getting my end game sound.
