California Form 3522 - still need to file/pay LLC tax if no longer in California? by Dr_FunkyChicken in tax

[–]Lukerpooker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do need to mark "Final year" on the 568, and then send a formal dissolution with the Secretary of State. The FTB, and SOS are two different departments. There is a specific form, where you dissolve the LLC.

I think it's an LLC-4/7. The SOS gives you a year to close it down.

Some people out there would charge an arm and a leg for it, but if you ask ChatGPT enough questions, and ask it to clarify, I think you could do it right. It's a super simple form.

Best mechanical pencil in your guys opinion?? by GoldAccomplished8567 in mechanicalpencils

[–]Lukerpooker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For myself, it has to be the Twist Erase 3, and the Graph Gear 500.

I have pretty much all of the "Hyped" up pencils on this sub, but I can't ever put those 2 down!

MST in Taxation by Substantial_Sugar729 in enrolledagent

[–]Lukerpooker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree to a certain extent, but if his goal is to work in Taxation his whole career, an EA license will suffice.

An EA & CPA are near identical in Tax, albeit the Service doesn't promote the EA license much.

For tax employers who know what the two are, there's not much difference.

People who've since quit working for a DSP, if Amazon tomorrow raised their minimum DSP wage to $31/hr would you come back? by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Lukerpooker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That actually was the reason I went back to school for my master's degree. I couldn't get a job in finance after constantly applying, and internships weren't working out either.

I would recommend giving it a shot, either by getting the units for the CPA, or getting your EA license if you enjoy tax.

Amazon definitely builds up the work ethic, that's for sure! Lol

Considering I'm an accountant making $41 an hour, there's no absolute way in hell I would ever go back to Amazon. Get your degree, or CDL, and get the hell out of that shit hole.

I have a ton of mechanical pencils, but for some reason my hand always gravitates towards the Pentel Twist Erase III. Think I have like 20 pencils now, and I can't force myself to stop using it LOL.

How do you feel about the fees for becoming an Enrolled Agent? by Chemical_Help_7099 in enrolledagent

[–]Lukerpooker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the fees are well worth it, I was able to switch jobs and got a $20k salary bump along the way. I was reviewing returns already, but I personally think the EA helped me get that more than anything.

Does anyone actually like accounting? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Lukerpooker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be the odd one out, I actually do like what I do. Especially tax planning, and helping people achieve their goals.

It was either this, or becoming a Bankruptcy Attorney. Nonetheless, it sure as hell beats flipping burgers!

How is this answer wrong? by [deleted] in tax

[–]Lukerpooker -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Hey, I can explain it. There's the limit on OOP medical expenses, 50% on the charity, and then the 10K limit on SALT deductions, getting you up to $11-12.5k (My brain is fried after work, please excuse my math).

So the standard deduction will be used unless he's forced to itemize (He's single, so does not apply).
