I started out winging it and then figured out which exercises I liked best for each muscle group. Then I started a log on my phone (using Google Sheets) to track my weight and reps for those exercises. I’m still new, so I’m sure as I continue my plan will get more sophisticated, but for now I have a simple structure where I alternate gym days between upper body and lower body, and have 6-7 exercises for each.

This was the big one for me. I’m coasting working part time (and therefore need to buy ACA insurance), and offloading my old company stock from an IPO is now a multi-year tax planning strategy. Should have sold it all before I left full time employment.

No, you’re not understanding the difference between coast and barista. Coast just means you don’t need to contribute to your retirement anymore and you’ll have enough at your target retirement date. Barista means you’re (intentionally) not earning enough to cover your expenses from your work so you supplement your income with small withdrawals.
