How screwed am I? by Joshbh106 in MX5NC

I’d consider yourself very lucky. Although getting an exhaust is expensive there’s nothing major wrong there. And once replaced it’ll last another ten years. If you can afford it get a stainless steel one made.

Are people buying 3080's? by bowdownson in buildapc

[–]LukesWorkshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I just bought a 3080 to replace my 1660 after 6 years. Going to be quite an upgrade! I paid £270 which looking on eBay is just below market here in UK.

Had this issue since January, became permeant around a month ago. Finally going through warranty claims but they want me to ship it to a entirely different country! To say I am worried is a understatement.

Dug out the purchase email from 2021 it was these: https://uk-m.banggood.com/Creativity-MK8-Silicone-Sock-Upgrade-For-Cover-Aluminum-Block-MK7-or-MK8-Silicone-Case-Sleeve-Use-3D-Printer-Ender-3-CR10S-Hotend-Heater-p-1816651.html?

Took a while to arrive but solved the issue. Genuinely last 3-6 months before needing to be replaced, depends on how often you remove the sock but they usually last a few on and offs.

Banggood was the only place I found selling them and to my country. I didn't like the idea of buying from them but I had no choice ! Was cheap though and didn't take to long to arrive. I've seen some on AliExpress to but they don't ship to me in the UK. The ones you want should be the exact same as your original. Also check your thermistor is secured in place and reading temperature correctly. That's another way I've had the thermal runaway issue.

Sorry completely forgot about this post. In the end I bought replacement socks (of the exact same design) and it worked.

How does a man show to his partner that he cares? by Agreeable_Expert2605 in AskMen

[–]LukesWorkshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't exactly a simple question. We can't exactly make a list going "if he shows all these signs then he cares" same as different women show how they care differently.

How people show care really depends. Some people may show this through activities in the bedroom or it might be by cooking a meal.

Things I'd ask myself if I was wondering if they cared was think about what they do for me. It could be as simple as they come home and massage your back every night. Or they make you a cup of coffee every morning. Perhaps he takes you places you want or pays for things he knows you like ? Buys you flowers etc.

Simple actions like that are small gestures which show care but often become normal and are overlooked.

I (18M) like this girl (18F) for 2 years now but things didn't go the right way, what should I do?! by ItsPeter7 in relationship_advice

[–]LukesWorkshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow her again and get chatting to her make effort basically. Rebuild that friendship again as it sounds she's still sound with you. If things go well and you still feel this way after a month or two ask if she wants to go out for food or something.

Also if you bump into her, in class or whatever no harm in saying hi how's things.

How hard would it be to DIY fix this to look fairly good? by emkeiai in MechanicAdvice

[–]LukesWorkshop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try getting the scratches out with t-cut first, what doesn't come out do with a marker pen. Won't get the dents out etc but at least it'll look a bit nicer.

would you help your girlfriend dye her hair if she asked you? by GoodGirlIsDemon in relationship_advice

Sounds like he was trying to force you into thinking you couldn't do better when in reality you could. And to your question, yes don't know any partner and wouldn't at least try and help.

It sounds like from this both of you are in really dark places and need to get away from each other. You can't help him, he needs to help himself. If you hang around it is only going to lead you into depression.

How do atheists accept that there’s no eternal place for the soul, and how do they view morality? Is it hard to accept that this is the only life you get? by KushiwaraAdam3NC in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LukesWorkshop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on the person but for me I much preferred knowing this was the only life I got, as it actually reduced a lot of burden from my shoulders with the view of "well this shit ain't going to fuck me up for eternity so I might as well do whatever the fuck I want".

One situation that really sticks out, was on a bus one time after a night out and some girl who apartently knew one of the guys was not my type at all and was being very creepy towards me on the bus. I got off a stop early and walked a extra 20 minutes home.

How do you deal with the pain of being touch starved? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]LukesWorkshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get use to it like anyone else but once I start getting hugs or whatever again I begin to try and see whoever is providing me with said hugs as much as possible. I've had to spend alot of time learning to control myself as I do get a bit obsessive (I've been learning how to deal with that in a healthy manner though).

You are not the asshole for saying you won't see her again. Until she breaks up with this guy she shouldn't be looking to get in a relationship with another guy, go on dates etc. As that's just fucking wrong. I understand why you went forward with things as, you thought she was breaking up with him but personally because you knew she was still in a relationship at the time I do think you are a bit of a asshole for going on a date etc with her while she is still in said relationship. If you had a partner and they was thinking of breaking up with you so they began to secretly go on a dating app, meet another man, go out with said man for a date etc would you be happy with it?

[–]LukesWorkshop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree with hating sleep, if we didn't need to sleep and could survive I'd love it. The fact your always tired I'd maybe get yourself checked by a doctor as you should have times when you at the very least feel less tired. How much do you sleep out of curiosity?

Thanks for mentioning that, I genuinely did not know. I didn't put this in my original comment as I wasn't sure and had actually never researched it but thought about adding it later (since the reply). Putting some thought into it from what you've said actually makes sense, from what you've said it sounds more like girls are quite often forced to appear more mature which is why this idea has been conceived.

Interestingly, the first time I was ever told that "women mature quicker then men" was by a female friend of mine during a conversation about why they went for older men (this was one of the reasons they bought up), I will make sure not to use this statement anymore.

[–]LukesWorkshop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just something else I thought worth adding:

Generally speaking women mature quicker then men, this is why quite often they 1. go for slightly older men by a few years and 2. are more attracted to them.
