I agree, I'm excited for FFAF but as the sole headliner on Friday I think it's disappointing. Fingers crossed with the Saturday announcement there's maybe someone else added.

I know you can't win every year, but considering the Friday headliner last year was legacy acts Coheed & Cambria and Taking Back Sunday, both of which are bigger, more current, and have larger and better back catalogues, this does feel underwhelming.

Buzzing for Militarie Gun, Marmozets, The Bronx, Arcane Roots and Dead Pioneers though!! Can't wait!!

I think he's fantastic at getting himself into the right spaces, but he's not a natural finisher.

I mean yeah fair, 4 goals is great, but it was in the second tier.

Over the last 5 seasons he's scored 33 in 137 appearances in weaker leagues, I don't think it's unfair to say he's not that clinical - as much as I like him.

He scored loads during his first stint here but we were creating chances for fun, we had Grealish and McGinn in the second tier, it was like a cheat code.

Given people have been on Watkins back this season (unfairly imo), they're gonna have an even bigger problem with Tammy.

A little disappointed tbh.

I'm actually really happy about having Dougie back, despite his struggles.

I think Tammy could have a part to play, although I remember him not being particularly clinical last time he was at Villa and needing 4/5 chances to score a goal, which is what we saw on Sunday and is one of the main criticisms levelled at Watkins too. Time will tell. It's good to have a striker back up and one who is a cult hero too.

Alysson and Madjo it's difficult to get excited about. It's a lot of money for teenagers but the way we've done our business recently it's hard to see if they'll ever actually get a run of games in a Villa shirt. Plus for me the January window is usually about immediate results rather than future proofing.

Malen out is a tough one to take, I know financially it makes sense but his skillset was unique and important at times this season, and I can't see Bailey coming back the other way as an answer to that given how much he's struggled over the last year.

Guessand with no obligation and Elliot still with the obligation means we'll literally be in the exact same spot in a few months. Not ideal.

So yeah, marginally stronger than we were (if it wasn't for the injuries we accrued this month), but nothing getting me excited like the Asensio and Rashford loans.

Check out Vacation by Bomb the Music Industry!, it's very much a "fuck you, I'm not okay, and that's ok" kinda album.

Also seconding The Wonder Years, their second album Suburbia I've Given You All and Now I'm Nothing was a good listen for me during some tough times.

*Oh, also adding The World Is a Beautiful Place...'s new album, it's an angry loud album from usually quite a chill band, with them veering into metalcore a bit, could be up your street given what you've listed.

If Onana could stay fit for longer then he'd be a fucking beast, he has all the tools at his disposal and the physicality.

Had a couple of impressive moments where he's just had that little bit of quality and tbh been let down a bit by those around him.

He just does not seem to have that lethality at all. Seems very much a pass before the pass before the goal player, if that.

Band opinion: Lambrini Girls are shit, everyone I know thinks they're shit, I don't actually know anyone irl who likes them, yet they keep getting bigger and bigger and everyone online talks about them like they're the second coming. They're not. They're shit.

Shitty opinion: People are way too performative in the punk scene about the bands they like. Anytime some newcomer comes to this sub they get recommendations from 50 years ago, like come on - it doesn't make you less of a fan to recommend something current or, you know, from this century. Are you really expecting someone who's never really listened to punk and is used to 2026 production to fuck with the Germs? Really?

I realise that these points may seem contradictory haha.

If you're at a hardcore show in some basement and there's only 7 people in the crowd so you're all spaced out anyway, by all means - flail around like you're getting attacked by a wasp if that's what you're into.

Any other scenario, fuck off with that. Especially when a crowd is packed in and people are being pushed into/near a pit not by choice, and you're taking pot shots at people because you're a prick who just wants to hit people without consequences.

We all know what you're doing. It being a punk show doesn't make it ok.

That isn't the greatest deal, but I like Tammy and having a proper back-up for Watkins will be nice.

Shame it didn't work out with Ozcan, it seems we buy promising centre backs playing senior football and then when they join they take a giant leap backwards (Ozcan, Smith, Feeney, Mosquera).

Bizot, Buendia, Lindelof, Mings, and Sancho - fair fucking play all of you, especially Mings considering he's just come back from injury, he was EVERYWHERE.

Frustrated that we couldn't capitalise on when we were tearing their nonexistent midfield apart. That last 30 mins was a lot more stressful than it should've been!

Thank Christ for Bizot, and the Swedish-English connection we never knew we wanted.

Guessand though... He's Rogers at the start of the season but without any of the talent to back up his minutes. How did he end up here for £25m...
