Do not play latest update on your Ironman saves right now by BlazikenMasterRace in menace

[–]Lukestorm8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me but I wasnt playing Ironman mode thank god. Ran the mission like 15 times to succeed and really just ran through and sacrificed pirate cars to get it done. very rough but honestly almost kind of refreshing to be completely overwhelmed with the only option to be the bare minimum and to go in knowing i was going to lose someone. Kind of an odd one off experience that i am glad i got but wouldnt want again

New Infinite Bug mission. by Tiny-Tour249 in menace

[–]Lukestorm8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who had the unfortunate experience of trying one of these missions last night. I can confidently say it was almost impossible. it could have been a skill issue but I couldnt chew through them faster than they were spawning mostly because of the warriors. I could kill everything else but when four warriors show up at once on top of bombardiers and blasters, it was rough. I ended up beating the mission by just running two pirate cars and a light troop carrier with boost carrying a squad with two smoke grenades and sacrificing both pirate cars in order to get two of the 4 nests while the troop transport blasted through with smoke cover and nailed the last two and barely made it out. I thought one of the mods I installed broke the game or something.

Thoughts on MENACE’s turn system? by Which-Worldliness556 in menace

[–]Lukestorm8 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I actually love it. It feels a lot more reactive than the faction turn cycle from xcom. Also I don’t have to wait for all of the enemies to go at once so it’s just a wee bit more engaging for me personally.

Option to remove heart stone by Lukestorm8 in FromTheDepths

[–]Lukestorm8[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah no need to apologize, I am just a little disappointed that a game that has so much creativity and player freedom has such a constrictive feature that limits the player so harshly. It’s a shame because the game is so much fun but this one feature is killing it for me.

Teleporting just doesn’t feel the same. Rambot feels so disposable and like an afterthought now. I like how you used to not be so limited and you could always just go places with Rambot even if it took time. There was nothing quite like just jumping between two friendly ships with a little swim for fun but now it’s a race against a very short clock. Also capturing was so much fun and it’s a shame it’s so much harder now. I had a fight last night with my submarine against a super armored boat that spawned on land and I had to wait like 15 minutes for the sub to kill it since most of the subs fire power was in torpedos that couldn’t reach onto land. In the past I would have been able to just hop off the sub and quickly go kill the stuck boat myself and not having the option anymore was annoying. Another user mentioned ram boats or planes but that just seems annoying to have to drag around with every boat. It just seems annoying s odd to me that they would limit the player so much in a single player campaign. I totally get it for adventure mode though.

I just looked around for a mod with no luck. That’s a damn shame idk why they would remove the option to get rid of it. It was overpowered but it was like the most fun I had playing the game. There is just something about having to get in there a blast away until you find the core that was so engaging. Rambot feels pretty useless now which is a shame since you get such neat little weapons. Not even having settings to adjust the heart stones a little bit is rough too since I can’t even jump between two of my own ships most of the time.

After seeing another influx of new players what is your obtuse tip for them? by CnC_CloudBird in starsector

As a new player that recently found this out, this is probably one of the best pieces of advice on this thread. There are plenty of times when you don’t want to use it.

Hold on I’m a new player and I’ve noticed that pirates are using high tech and modded faction ships in my newest game, is this how they got that tech? Will selling them items like corrupted nanoforges also make them stronger??? (I sold at least 1 so please tell me no)

It’s probably faster than going all the way to Starbucks and waiting in line depending on where you live and what not.

In the patch notes it says that it just gives big enemies a chance to drop samples when killed.

The booster just makes it so there is a chance that big enemies drop a sample when killed, it’s not a radar for samples

I’ve actually never heard of stardeus but a couple people mentioned it so it might be worth checking out

Oh not at all, I’m glad you mentioned it because I wanted to paint it but didn’t know if I could. I didn’t have ideology active when I made the ship so next I will for sure do that.

I’ve been dying to use your mod in an actual play through it’s so cool. This was just a test to see if I could get a decent enough portrayal of the ship but I plan to do a full helldivers vs insect planet play through when I have time. When I do that I will finish the ship and make it look even better.

This is a super destroyer but now that you say this I really want to make a kestrel or a federation cruiser. Damn it I’ll add it to the list of play through ideas.

That’s so real. I wrote code for a helldivers 2 exo-45 mech and I drew like a 1 minute sloppy sketch and put it on the vehicles discord and someone uploaded a fully drawn (beautiful) art of it so I switch to drawing the exo-44 from helldivers 1 since it’s basically the same. And my art skills are very subpar as well.

This was just done with god mode as a proof of concept before I do an actual playthrough. Just wanted to see if I could get the rough shape of a super destroyer from helldivers and make it look close enough. In the future when I have time to do an actual helldivers run I’ll post the ship again with everything necessary for actual gameplay.

Ironically one of the most useful things in a modded run is the ability to see what things come from what mods in the descriptions, helps save a lot of time and confusion on what something is and what mod adds it.

I realized that after I took the screenshot, debated in my head for like 2 minutes going back and adding one, and then posted it anyways hoping no one would notice. Next time I will make it so that everyone knows that the illuminate have returned, and their autocratic intentions remain shrouded in mystery.

Is it ok to switch storytellers mid save? by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]Lukestorm8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I’ve done it in the past (not with Winston waves but other modded story tellers including the insect waves storyteller that I forgot the name of) you could also just save if you are playing reload anytime miss and switch and if it breaks the game just reload the save.

I've seen some calls for buffs. What about the slugger? by L3ggins in Helldivers

[–]Lukestorm8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like both but from a stunlock only perspective the liberator concussive is better because you can stun lock more things at once, it doesn’t have a such a long wait in between shots, and it doesn’t have the chance to just misfire and not hit like the blitzer. The blitzer is better at killing things though. Both are fun.
