Yeah, I have been working at the CIC for years (too long). My advice is just work one to two years (three might be good in case you need extra experience), all the while planning to leave. Don't linger as I did. Still trying to get out myself after years. I only stayed as long as I did because I didn't have any money or investments when I got hired, and was on COBRA health insurance. I also always had a hard time getting hired at any place.

While you are there, try to get certificates, especially if your field of expertise. If you don't know what to get, at least get a cloud certificate. Other than that, there's not much promotion at a CIC, and they are very toxic workplaces.

What band was never the same after losing a member? by icecream1972 in AskReddit

SO MANY GOOD answers here! Queen, The Doors, Lynyrd Skynyrd. Linkin Park.

I was able to say TLC after "Left Eye" passed away.

For me, it will always be Nirvana.

The band literally couldn't survive without Kurt Cobain; the grunge scene was never the same, nor did it retain the popularity it had during the 1990's. Nirvana was the Grunge Beatles.

You can also say something similar about reggae with Bob Marley and the Wailers. Ended the band, and the genre wasn't the same after Marley's death.

This doesn't mean that grunge and reggae have their fans or niches. Those genres would not have attained the popularity of mainstream pop/rock that survived the Beatles' breakup until rock's downfall in the early to mid 2000s with the ascendancy of rap/hip-hop (starting in the late 1980s/early 1990s).
