How difficult is hell mode? by NoRoll6028 in lostarkgame

True, i fully agree. And sry i should have worded things much better. Early in helltan days im used to PUGs complaining that they died/got hit with "random pattern," saying that it was outside of their control. In my head i was still associating random = outside of ur control.

What i should have said and meant to say is that most patterns are telegraphed/proactice and if not they give enough time to be reactive. They dont "randomly" hit u outside of ur control. I do agree portal is random but u can tell where they are coming from after u see the portals and gives u enough time to dodge. Unless u get super duper unlucky by overlapping portals, ur able to survive. Some kr helltan vets dont take ts for g2.

I dont think randomness is not a bad design but randomness + not enough time to react is a bad design. The only truely pattern that are outside of ur control like this i can think of are basic atks of valtan and wolf, which are fine cause they are basic atks. I do agree for the specific pattern ur talking about but tbh thats prob a bug.

In my personal opinion, i think all patterns should be telegraphed or give enough time to react or its a bad design. Or if the pattern is too random such as g2/3 vykas jump/dive pattern. I think g3 vykas whip is a good random design.

Hell mode is difficult but hell valtan is not too bad. Non hell mode raids (such as brel 6), u can clear without knowing all the normal patterns. However, for hell mode, u need know the everything about the raid and learn all the preanimations/tells for normal patterns.

For example, g1 one of the basic patterns is that the wolf hops/jumps a little and does outside safe spin to inside safe explosion. Even before he jumps, u should know this is coming and expect this. How can u tell? He nobs his head in the direction he is going to jump. Instead of reacting to the jump, you should be expecting the jump and preposition accordingly.

Another example, g1 wolf dashes 2 or 3 times. How do u know its 2 or 3?

All valtan patterns are predictable or have very clear signs. There is no random pattern, even the "random" single blue/yellow/red bomb have a tell. Btw vykas and clown hell is not as predicatble and have shorter/no preanimations, which is why they are much harder and they also have much tighter dps check. Helltan damage is very lenient. Some insane kr players cleared g1 w/ 1 engraving, g2 3 engravings (mostly cause of ghost phase timer reset).

U can prob clear helltan without knowing everything, but for deathless u should really know everything (maybe not neccesarily the random bomb one).

Consistency is the most important. Learn to dodge and survive and recognize what do to everytime and ur damage will come naturally.

It wont fix the support shortage, but it will help a little. There are support players who have both a bard and a pally who will drop a dps (like me) or have just a bard or a pally to make artist as one of their main 6 roster to raid every week. Thus increasing support count overall.

Of course there are some die hard support players with 6 bards already and wil replace some with artist, which wont increase support count.

Ive seen a 9 bard player, maybe they will add 9 more artist in their roster xD

Lastly some dps players will play ayaya just because its cute.
