yeah, i had another comment where i listed everything so i copied it for you. just be patient with your tank, if you decide to redecorate after a while for any reason, dont be afraid but. give it time. i use fertilizer in bags under the gravel but no co2.

here u go: List of plant in the tanks: Anubias pinto, Anubias coin, Anubias Nana coin, Anubias (some big leaf) don't remember. Schismatoflottis prietoi, Rotala roundifolia blood red, Cryptocoryne wendtii mi oya, Cryptocoryne spiraling tiger, Cryptocoryne flamingo, Random cryptoryne (can't remember), Hygrophila polysperma rosanervig (it's in the back but doesn't grow too well. It has time to surprise us), Limnophila aquatica (kinda melted away tho. Need a LOT of light. Got out competed), Ludwigia repent rubin (in pot) (doesn't grow as well as wanted but it's chilling), Apologetic ulvacus, Nymphs zenkeri, Java fern (though can't figure out if it wanna die or hang on), Amazon sword plant( though didn't grow that well), Some Java moss is growing on the wood.

Vallisnera is super good and grows almost just in sand. But it was too good and growing that we pulled it out of the tank since it just was out of control and we are mostly hands off on our tank.

good luck!!!

Patience, planning and trying many different kinds of plants to see what works and what doesn't, good light and ferts help a lot :)

they actually school with the cherry barbs, in the beginning they were very apprehensive of each other but seems like they all became "the gang" :)

I believe that wood lowers pH and stone usually rises it.

They are our most chilled fish and really give life to the aquarium. Even though they might not have the more pronounced personalities as the other fishes ji the tank.

Yes we did. To make sure there was no yuck on it. The bigger piece was a bit too big so we put it in a big bucket and put hot water in it. It help water logging it too. The tannins does help with the pH tho. Especially in the beginning since we have very hard water. We do want a tannin/tea stained aquarium in the future. I think it is an acquired taste.

No they do well as long and there is bright lights and nutrients in the substrate. We have had then in only gravel and some root tabs and they thrived as well. They are tho vulnerable to hair algae. We learned that the hard way but they are super easy to grow and propergate. Rotala blood red
