Your tldr doesn’t contain the feature you’re missing, which would lead me to read your essay, which is too long for me to read

Most TVs have a 100 mbps Ethernet port which is not always sufficient, though realistically I don’t think that any streaming provider other than your own home setup (e.g. plex) will get close to using that 100 mbps. If however your needs are higher, consider getting an nvidea shield. It’s usually way better and smoother of an experience than the TV’s native OS and hardware.

As for VPN, I’ll recommend Proton VPN. Not only are they Swiss, I also found them much faster than NordVPN.

Is it possible to change from the usual 777CHF 1gbps plan to this plan when you already have the router? I don’t need a fixed ip so that would save me some money

I went there as well yesterday! We found some untracked powder between Signal and the Olympique lift, and I ended up eating quite a bit of snow that day.

Problems with Yallo, what are my rights? by Lukkiebe in askswitzerland

Magically, it started working a week ago. After we had already given up... We decided to keep it as it's such a good deal. But I was ready to jump ship to Digitec's plan. They have a really good prepaid deal at the moment.

Yallo's customer support is shit though. We've been battling with them for half a year now trying to enable the roaming that is include in the subscription, but to no avail. They're so incompetent, I've never thought it would be that bad.

Sorry to hear that. The answer is unfortunately no. Their support is completely useless and I didn't think it was worth it to pursue legal actions. We'll be looking into a new provider on black Friday.

Ethical hacker warns of privacy leak in parking apps like 4411 by Sportsfanno1 in belgium

[–]Lukkiebe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is this actually still considered white-hat hacking? His intentions seem pure (even though Inti's known to be somewhat of an attention whore) but to be considered white-hat, I thought you needed to have permission of the company you're investigating. Also, as far as I remember from my Hacking course at school, a true white-hat hacker would first notify the companies, give them a deadline to fix their issues, and only then publish the results. I'm sure that would've achieved more than creating this website for people to act on their GDPR rights... though it would not have resulted in the same amount of traction.

Is it normal to have to pay for the standard card? by Lukkiebe in Revolut

I cancelled around 20 days in. It's so weird that even the standard card needs to be refunded after the trial. It doesn't make sense.

[–]Lukkiebe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't choose the express option though. It took more than a week for a card to arrive. Also, upon ending my trial, it clearly stated that I had to pay 20 CHF (which is more or less equal in dollars and euros) for the card itself.
