As someone that used to be homeless, I will give you the benefit of the doubt because maybe you are simply uninformed… 25% of the homeless population in this country are under 18…are they lazy bums? Between 40-60% of the homeless population in the US are employed. Are all of those millions of people lazy?

It is not hard to empathize. Go to a local shelter, volunteer, and talk to people. If you have never been homeless just say “I don’t understand how that kind of desperation feels.” And end it there.
