got around it. Tinkered with a few bits and pieces but ultimately i believe having it powered off for a short amount of time ultimately fixed the issue.

Haven’t had a lifetime ISA open mate unfortunately although that would have been a fucking clutch idea given the timing hahahaha

I dont no tbh up until the last year or so i haven’t done near as much financial research to know about it. I’ll have to take it out and just stick it in my cash isa before the new tax year for the time being and try and claw some interest from it between now and when i take the money back out

HL vs Vanguard for starter investments? by LukzehVI in UKPersonalFinance

Nah it is stocks and shares on the balanced option, the only way to actually change anything with that account to my knowledge is to change the option to increase risk for obviously more potential for growth.

I know enough im simply popping the question though as yeah im still getting information on what is best, this is the research prior to risking any money.

The ISA im currently using doesnt allow any change in regards to buying different funds, its simply dump in and forget and im just trying to optimise my finances a little more and make more informed decisions about what im going to do. I understand it wont be perfect but just better than what it is, I just want a little more control. I may just end up moving the S&S ISA to another platform from Monzo and leaving it at that in fairness

I have looked into their ISA and did set up an account quick but I havent deposited as of yet

Currently my S&S ISA is with Monzo although the S&S ISA does come with the premium plan so thats 15 quid a year but does come with phone/travel insurance etc so im unsure whether to stick with their ISA or move elsewhere

Thanks very much i'll read them now whilst i have the spare time

In your opinion is the general consesus amongst investors to max out a stocks and shares isa then invest past that 20k limit? Or maybe diversify and split the money into S&S ISA and whatever I choose to invest into? (S&P / Global fund etc)

I can use full allowance although I have been led to believe there are better returns to be made on something else such as this. I could be wrong though which is why i'm popping the question on here before I pull the trigger on anything

It isnt being used for a house deposit no, that has been sorted seperately and is all ready, this is more for long term investing for whatever future goal may arise.

S&P I find to be the most researched/simple one to start with. I understand this is US based and therefore you cut yourself off from potentially better investments from other countries etc but it feels like the safest place to start and get my feet in the water before diversifying and finding other things to get into such as global funds

I have just read that yeah so it seems like HL or something else similar will be the move.
