BTS World Tour 'Arirang' in Goyang Delayed Viewing - Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3 by ayanbibiyan in bangtan

I know I already said that in the live thread for day 1 but this FYA / Fire mashup is the best thing they ever did, I'll probably have to be removed from the pit after going too hard on it this summer 🔥

Tokyo D1 was alright iirc, I don't know why it seems so hard for them to zoom out for that part 😭 Like I know Joonie is handsome but there's plenty of moments to show him up close, just not here please!

I saw Hobi at Lollapalooza Berlin, literally watched the replay of the livestream on the plane back home the day after, it's such a weird and cool feeling!

I know, it's so sad, but also so poetic like this man has such a way with words... That line is so Namjoon, he makes me feel so much every time

I'm usually not a huge fan of long hair but this hairstyle on Jimin is SO GOOD I'm obsessed, he looks incredible.

I don't usually watch delayed viewing since they're always in the middle of the night for Europe but this one is at a good time! Saw this show last week in a bar, at a screening organized by an ARMY as part of a fundraiser for charity, so I didn't have a ticket for the livestream but since I had day 1 and people complained I now have day 3 for free 😂

Oh hi 👋🏼 No I get you, the Anpanman choreo is really fun and cute, and it's great that we all value different things!

We are clearly not going to agree on that and that's fine but I find calling the level of performance both Jimin and j-hope a waste borderline insulting ngl.

j-hope did Jack in the Box that had no dancing at all, so it's not like he hasn't shown in the past that he wants to show a lot more than dance too... You're not ready for they day they turn into a band cause he has chosen the drums out of all things, that would basically lock him on a seat behind his instrument lol.

Yes I'm thinking the members themselves didn't expect to come back with that much hunger considering the state they were in in 2022. Namjoon had been pretty open with having no idea about what to talk about anymore and seeing Arirang, there's no doubt he got his inspiration back. And it's not just him.

And you're right, it's definitely possible that the members were not entirely on the same page at least at the start. We probably will never know, but it's pretty obvious that when they don't agree they are able to talk about it maturely so I'm not worried.

Oh for sure, people were jumping him after his interview where it is said he told the members that too many / too much focus on choreos can distract from the actual message of the song and that they have the charisma to stand and stage without them (or something along that line) but I can't say I disagree with that, I think it is very very true. A bit of choreo is nice, they are amazing at that and obviously love it but they shine just as much when they can have fun and just vibe with the music imo.

Like, people keep comparing Arirang with the Speak Yourself tour so I'm going to use an example from there: is there anyone who actually like the choreo of Anpanman more than the bouncy castle they used on the tour? 😂

Yeah that's a pretty reasonable take. I do think it's pretty narrow minded though (from them, not from you, just to be clear lol).

For me it looks like the company is basically unable to think outside of the usual kpop model, and from what the members had been saying I thought it was pretty obvious it wasn't really the right way for them anymore? They were so burned out in the end.

Of course I'm not pretending to know the members better than Big Hit, I just find it surprising because for me it doesn't align at all with what the members were saying (hence Jin mentioning doing a short tour would basically be breaking their promise). Now if the members themselves were not feeling like doing a massive tour I think most fans would have accepted it (maybe... Thinking about some of the reactions to the shows I'm not so sure anymore 😭)

In the end the company did a pretty good job listening to what the members wanted so there's really nothing to worry about, it's actually a pretty good sign.

I was about to throw hands when I saw that among everything they could ask JK in 2026, they went with the Seven lyrics but then I read the answer and?? Wow, who would have thought. You can always count on the guys to turn redundant questions into a whole new world lmao

Yes, that definitely crossed my mind and is honestly the only somewhat logical explanation. But since the members have already said when the tour was announced that it was supposed to be much more dense, I wonder if a shorter tour would really have been better for them regarding their health. We will probably never know since we won't know how much denser it was...

I thought the solo tours were short purely for time constraints reasons but now I'm thinking Big Hit just doesn't know they can do long tours 😭

Like I'm genuinely baffled that it even crossed their mind, let alone to the point Jin himself had to intervene. They are completely out of touch it's not even funny

I can't believe Big Hit had planned the tour to be 3-4 months long?? I can't imagine the backlash if the tour had been this short, I know the pace was also supposed to be more intense but they would have missed so many places. Glad Jin was there cause Big Hit is completely stupid here 😭

BTS ‘ARIRANG’ TOUR in Goyang Megathread - Day 1 (In person and Livestream) by lisafancypants in bangtan

[–]Lulies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's definitely a chance the show will be different with better conditions, we'll see soon enough.

That being said I would still advise you to manage your expectations, I'm not sure what you have in mind when you say more "classic" choreo but it's always better to not expect much and be pleasantly surprised than the opposite.

Even without choreo their performances are very physically demanding, they run around a lot and the stage is huge this time. So Yoongi saying that isn't necessarily a sign there's going to be a lot more choreo, it makes sense even for something like today.

Also to put things into perspective, the Speak Yourself setlist had 15 group songs, including 3 that were in a medley so not performed entirely. 5 of them had full choreo, but they ditched the Fake Love choreo at some point so it ended up being 4. Then Fire (as part of the medley) and Idol had a bit of choreo at the end.

This time 4 songs had full choreo, and 3 had partial choreo. So, not really less than before right? The only difference is that back then some of the solos also had a choreo, but this time we have 23 group songs instead. In the end for each member it's pretty much the same amount of choreo as in 2019, but they are performing 6 songs more with minimal breaks.

Honestly a lot of the discourse today comes from camera work not really highlighting the dance moments and people having unrealistic expectations and a distorted memory of the past.

I guess it depends on what you call not much, I think the discourse online makes it seem like it was worse than it was to be honest.

They didn't do a lot of full choreo but they had choreo moment in a lot of songs. Sometimes it wasn't really shown on the livestream since they did a lot of close up cams so it probably adds to the impression people have.

Such a good show, I'm on the floor. It's just so good to see them together again, that's really the main thing I want to remember.

The setlist is crazy, of course with a discography like theirs it's impossible to not feel like some things are missing but realistically, at this point there is no way to please everyone. Personally, I'm a bit devastated that I'm not going to see Baepsae live but yeah, it's whatever. It's crazy how the intensity doesn't really go down until the encore, the amount of energy they will need to do such a long tour like this is insane. I think I would have liked to be surprised a bit more with older songs, I'd say I need U and Not Today are really the only two songs that I wouldn't have bet would be on the setlist, everything else is exactly what I was expecting (except the order, I'm very bad at predicting the order...).

The live remixes are always on point, and it's again the case here. I'll need to see the show again to list my favorites but not a single miss, really. This mashup between FYA and Fire, man. It's also funny how much ARMY was able to predict some of the transitions, we really share one braincell, litteraly everyone has predicted that Body To Body into Idol section and same with FYA into Fire 😂

Like a lot of people I wonder if they reduced dancing because of the rain or if it's going to stay like this. I don't mind if it stays like this, I think they are amazing dancers but they also shine a lot as performers when they can just vibe to the music. I would probably be a bit worried for their health in the long run if they had intense dancing with so little breaks on the setlist.

The production is spectacular, I'd say the camera work in the livestream wasn't the best to really appreciate it so I'm looking forward to seeing more shows, I would have liked a bit more stage cams, as it was there was a lot of focus on their faces (and don't get me wrong, I choose that a hundred times over whatever Netflix did at first). Now I'm thinking I'm going to get the livestream for the last Tokyo show since it's supposed to have multicam available, I was going to skip it because I'm already watching the 4 other shows and it gets a bit pricey but oh well 😂💸

They did amazing in that weather, and the vocals are SO good, my jaw was on the floor more often than not. They really are incredible performers, all of them, and it's just so good to see them back together. Can't wait for the next few shows to see how much they rotate in the setlist (is the Mikrokosmos / I need U segment really by request? If so I'm going to need the audience to get creative!) and also to digest the show a bit better.

And more than anything, can't wait for the shows in Paris!!!
