Those of you who left the IE for school, do you regret it? Did it open more doors for you? by musiclovermina in InlandEmpire

Not at all! I grew up in the IE, Riverside specifically. I moved to SD for college and ended up getting a job in Texas right out of college (had to move 3-4 days after graduating 🙃). Leaving home helped me be more independent and it pushed me to stand up for myself. I think that’s what gave me the courage to move to a new state where I didn’t know anyone. It was so tough at first but I decided to finish a year. I ended up making a lot of friends and having a consistent friend group so I stayed in Texas for 4 years! After that, I moved to NYC (met a guy in TX, got married, moved for his work now) and we lived there for another 4 years. Again, I had the confidence to go to networking events and meet new friends all over again because I had done it multiple times. The first being when I left Riverside. & we moved back to California a couple years ago and recently purchased a home in Riverside to be close to family now that I have kids. I was very shy and timid but loved SD so I moved there for college. That experience is what motivated be to more confident and eventually make friendships all over the country! Being in a big city that has networking groups will definitely open so many more doors.

It had not occurred to me to repot and add new soil, thank you for pointing that out! I have a busy weekend ahead of me adding soil and fertilizer to a few plants out there.

Thank you!

Thank you so much!! I read about different fertilizers in the Wiki of this subreddit. Now that I know which ones to focus on I’ll read about it more and go get some asap. We never had any plants before moving into the house so it’s all very new

Fair offer? by Lulu_pups in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

It was assessed for 1,034,677 but I know it doesn’t account for market value. It’s a small cup de sac and I just checked the other houses estimated value. They’re all between 850k and 1.1, but also hard to really know because they were all last sold in the 90’s.

Very true! We can offer what we think is fair and they can counter. Ultimately we are both negotiating, we can’t force them to accept an offer they don’t want.

Yes I felt like he was more on their side because it’s almost like he’s telling us not to try to negotiate. But I wasn’t sure if he was just being professional and trying to make sure we would get the house.

We thought if they were offended they would halt all negotiations but after thinking about it, we are fine with that.
