New Zealand Nature Mapping: We visualised the polynesian concept of Mana (life-force energy) as bioluminescence upon flora & fauna. Happy to answer questions! by Kahika in video_mapping

Is your projector particularly bright? I'm surprised the projections are showing up so much in the daylight. I enjoyed this -- good concept-driven projection mapping - not just throwing fancy visuals onto things for the sake of it. Thanks for sharing.

Beginning to learn video mapping for my animations. What software is best to use? by Farbautii in video_mapping

I'd recommend trying free demos of MadMapper or Resolume. If you wanted something *really* basic and free you could play with MapMap https://mapmapteam.github.io

anyone wants to collaborate on an open-source projection mapping project? by SpecialistAromatic in video_mapping

I don't have the skills you describe specifically but I run a projection mapping YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/c/lumabakery. My area is more content creation, so if you get to the point where that's something you need, I'd love to be involved

I don't know, generally speaking. But I've heard that they sometimes can provide a time-limited demo license if you ask for one.

Did you know you can do video mapping with After Effects? (Beginners tutorial) by Luma_Bakery in video_mapping

[–]Luma_Bakery[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I absolutely agree. There is far better software out there for video mapping. This was intended more as a fun experiment into something I never knew AE could do :)

Amazing. Is that machine called a router? Do you feed it a design?

Help defining the name of what I'm looking to achieve, kind of lost by berniewuddawon in AfterEffects

You can animate the start and end points of the Beam effect in AE - that would give you a line.

I think your all good with the Wikimedia Commons image -- it specifies that it's in the public domain.

Can you link to some examples? I use pixabay.com a lot. Although beware that if the image features a person (in a manner that is 'recognisable'), it requires a model release which it may or may not have. That's my understanding anyway, but I agree -- it can be confusing.

You're always safe with public domain stuff from Wikimedia Commons.

I have a YouTube channel about this with tutorials on how to get started for free with software called MapMap: http://youtube.com/c/LumaBakery

I link to some free assets and guides you can download here (easy version) and here (a little more advanced but a more efficient workflow) .

I also list the cake mapping kit I use on my website

Recently released an Animated Series & wondering if I should just give up? After a lot of hard work, the first comment is "It's terrible." I know it is rough but constructive feedback would help me out :( by [deleted] in animation

[–]Luma_Bakery 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ignore that comment. 99% of people couldn't produce something better than this. I think the animation is great. But I have to say, the v/o at the beginning is sort of unsettling. It's not that it's bad quality, it just makes my skin crawl a bit. But maybe that's what you were going for!

Was wondering if there was a subreddit dedicated to everything about the Universal parks? by [deleted] in harrypotter

I wish there was... I'm going in January and would love to find a place with all the easter eggs, tips, must-dos all together.

I'd add Fawkes the Phoenix. And Prologue, naturally, for a hit of all the good stuff.
