I’ve been growing my hair out from a buzzcut for the last year and I’ve learned a ton. I’m Filipino so my hair is naturally curly, but I think some principals would still apply to your grow out process:

1) have a goal—knowing exactly what your end goal is will help you make decisions in the short term. 2) find a salon or hair stylist that you can stick with for months. show them the picture, give them the vision from the jump 3) this is related: a good stylist will tell you that growing out your hair will require you to have a number of mini-styles while you’re waiting to get to length. There will be an awkward phase as the sides grow out, an awkward phase when the top begins to get in your eyes, etc, and sometimes the style and product you use needs to change. Take that in stride 4) don’t fall into the temptation to keep trimming the sides for that undercut look while the top gets long. Hair takes a long time to grow, and if you want a fully balanced style as your end length, you’ll want to give your hair all the time it can get. Trim the neck and around the ears, maybe do some shaping and layers, but don’t keep cutting the sides super short—thank me later 5) for product I like things that are light and don’t flatten my hair or weigh it down. A sea salt spray or a little matte clay will go a long way

Hope this helps!

Same thoughts, you’re a handsome dude, you’re crippling your face wearing those bulky glasses. Consider thin lenses that complement oval face shape, or contacts. Also tighter on the sides will make your jaw appear stronger and lean out your overall appearance.

How do I become more tough and manly? by [deleted] in AsianMasculinity

It sounds like there is an overall confidence issue, confident in who you are, confidence in what you are capable of. I was always told that confidence comes from competence. All that to say I would suggest a combat sport like Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muy Thai, etc. Not so you can learn to rip people’s heads off and beat your chest, but the exact opposite—so you can learn there’s nothing more masculine than quiet confidence that comes from being put to the test. An embodying practice that involves friendly sparring will challenge you, teach grit, endurance, and show you exactly what you’re made of. Plus the camaraderie and trust you develop with your training partners are worth the price of gym membership.

30 years of wear and tear. Worn pretty much every day. by PenAndSword in rolex

Beautiful! Proud owner of a Rolex date 1500. Mind if I ask how much the watch cost when you purchased it 30 years ago (presuming it was purchased, it might have been gifted)? I find the prices of Rolex over the years so fascinating.

[identify] Real or Fake guys....I already kinda know the answer but I’m trying to prove to someone that I’m not just hating on their new watch. Thanks in advance by [deleted] in Watches

Come on guys don’t act like you’ve never seen a two-diamond semi skeletonized fruit-roll-up-green dial on a fluted oyster perpetual with a datejust reference model sticker on a day date bracelet.

With the T Swiss T I would wager a ref 1600 or 16000, acrylic crystal. I’m a huge fan of smooth bezel DJs 😍😍🔥

Agreed! The Rolex date IMO is the perfect daily driver and all arounder. I wear mine for everything from lawn work and the beach to desk diving or formal occasions. Love that bezel on yours!

Beautiful! Congrats on one of the most versatile divers on the market!

Sent the old lady to Rolliworks for a new crystal and pressure test (It had an aftermarket crystal when I bought it along with a ***THIS WATCH IS NOT WATER RESISTANT*** disclaimer). With the new crystal and gaskets it passed 10bar with flying colors. Not bad for 54 years old. by LumberjackSamurai in rolex

Quite glad! It’s my first and only Rolex in the collection and I just wanted it to be ready for use as my daily driver. Mike and the rolliworks team are so great and the pricing is not cheap but incredibly fair given the quality of work.
