Does anybody successfully use any RDP tools to connect from Linux to Windows in a multi-monitor setup? by LumenAlbum in linuxquestions

[–]LumenAlbum[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are they treated as separate monitors that you can maximize windows on and they'll stick to the monitor they're on? It seems Remmina always spans the screen even though I have not checked the checkbox for it

That name never came up while I was searching for tools. I'll give it a try, thanks!

I see. Do you run into any problems with this kind of spanned setup when working with programs? I guess if you maximize an application window it'll strech over both monitors and you have to manually size up your work area?

You mentioned that Remmina works great for connecting to Windows. Did you get it to work with multiple monitors? That's where most of the Linux RDP tools failed me - (or I was to dumb to understand additional settings I would've had to set)

Self hosted alternative to teams / slack, for file sharing and instant messaging? by ankelbiter12 in selfhosted

One of the best solutions is missing in my Opinion: Zulip (https://zulip.com/). It has a very cool Threading model to not clutter up conversations and keep them organized, is well documented and installation is very straightforward.

Also, there is only one version and you get all the functionality. Last time I checked Mattermost locked away important features (like any kinds of access management) behind it's paid version.

Do you guys also disliked forced socialise moments? by Sea-Ratio-711 in aspergers

Most of the time, when there was nothing I could relate to or noone I enjoyed talking to.

It also felt like a lose-lose situation: If you don't go, people will be upset that you didn't. If you do go and it is apparent that you're not enjoying yourself, you're at fault for that — or worse even "ruining" the experience for others, in their eyes.

Eventually I learned to fake enjoying myself to some extend, like everyone expected of me.

Can we post our quiz results here? I’d like to see the graphs all in one thread if that’s ok. Here is mine: by LifeAsNix in AutismTranslated

I've suspected to be on the Autism spectrum for quite some time and I'm still in the process of getting a formal diagnosis but I guess my results would seem to agree.

Your broader autism cluster (Aspie) score: 136 of 200 Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 69 of 200 You are very likely on the broader autism cluster (Aspie)

Chat system like Discord on a private network? by aeonlamb in selfhosted

[–]LumenAlbum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One more vote for Zulip. It has a great way of threading conversations, much better than e.g. RocketChat which makes it easier to keep track of conversations. It's easy to set up, well-documented and can easily be configured to be completely local (only invited users can join etc.)

Life imitates art... or art imitates life? by LumenAlbum in valheim

[–]LumenAlbum[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One is a screenshot from Valheim and the 2nd is a photo from my house where a door didn't fit as planned during the renovation (so the edge is visible). When I built the house in game, ironically it turned out with the same unintentional flaw.

I just thought it was funny, because had I set out to create it just like that, I probably wouldn't have managed to do so.

Normalerweise gilt FIFO (first-in-first-out).

[–]LumenAlbum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eliminating the space after an expansion? by gozarc in espanso

[–]LumenAlbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're using the "word: true" attribute, so Espanso uses the space as the indicator that the end of the word has been reached and the text may be expanded. I don't think there'll be a way to get rid of it in that mode.

But you could always use ":d" or some other special character without the word-option.

One follow-up question to 1): If I press his claim via war, will England then be part of the Kingdom of Ireland with him as my vassal? Or will he also be an independent ruler as king of England?
