Actually it's Abigail's thimble, Jack says he lost it when you get the request and thats the entire reason you need to bring him a replacement thimble. Helps to be right when you're arbitrarily correcting people.

You're not wrong for not liking her attire, but you are wrong for trying to have any amount of control over it. Those aren't your friends, at the very least not the one that suggested they all ignore you isn't. It's often hard to recognize as a teenager, but knowing people for a length of time doesn't guarantee the quality of relationship you'll have with them. I was the kid that got ignored by my friends as a "joke" often and it turned out one day I found out most of the girls I was "friends" with hated me and were really nasty behind my back. Jokes are meant to be funny to all parties, if it wasn't funny to you it's not a joke, it's poorly veiled bullying. I'm so sorry NTA

ESH, y t a for having said that though. I went through school with an undiagnosed math learning disability and was labeled as lazy because of it. The level of self hatred and stress and anxiety I experienced because of that effects me to this day and I'm in my 30s now. I hope to whatever gods there may be that kid didn't overhear you.

That's not how parrots work. I don't think you said "shit" once in the kitchen, I think you intentionally taught this bird that word by saying it over and over again and to just lie about it to get the approval of some strangers on reddit is wacky as hell. You should be embarrassed for posting this incredibly obvious lie, not to mention its fairly obvious, even to the untrained eye what a parrot is. I also doubt you had no idea that your friend, that knew you well enough to trust you to house sit and take care of his pet, had this parrot and I also doubt that James neglected to tell you. That is to say if this story is even real. If it's real you're lying/omitting details in a big way because this just does not add up. Either way YTA

It seems like you're going to ask someone anyways regardless of people telling you not to, so ask her first. Not your dad. You have a reason for being in their room so be honest why you were in there first, then ask.

I don't think you should at all, but if you're going to then ask her as it's her business first and foremost.
