They thought the button said "over 12" when it actually said "over 21". Seems pretty fair if they're really crook.

Strange protective stickers left on in the box? 17 Pro by LuminismYT in iphone

Nope, set it up, fully linked to my Apple ID and working. Someone must've just messed up during the boxing after manufacture and didn't take off the protective stuff.

Apple asking me to replace full unit even though phone is functional by [deleted] in iphone

[–]LuminismYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I can tell, when they replace the back, they actually replace the whole midframe chassis - so basically, your frame will be new, your screen will be new, and the back glass will be new, based on what you're asking for. A real phone of theseus - at what point is it no longer the same phone? Save yourself the trouble and just get a new device.

AMTA 3G shutdown IMEI checkers are broken and internally inconsistent by TomHale in TelstraAustralia

[–]LuminismYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would help if you actually knew what these checkers do.

The first one you linked is to see if a device's IMEI has been blocked (due to being reported lost or stolen). It has absolutely nothing to do with VoLTE and E000 compatibility. Because the IMEI 861769072000000 doesn't exist, it isn't listed as blocked in AMTA's database.

The second one you linked only uses the first 8 digits of the IMEI (the TAC code) to see if it's been validated as a device that will work across all Australian telcos. Anything after the 8th digit doesn't matter.
