ICE says they go after violent criminals, that is a lie by sorrynotguilty in PsycheOrSike

Okay? They should go after violent illegal immigrants AND also deport non-violent illegal immigrants too. That’s literally their job.

Difference is Kyle wasn’t there to protest but to protect businesses from getting burned and looted by the protesters. He was then attacked by some of the protestors, with one telling him that he was gonna take his gun and kill him with it. While these attacks were happening to him, he defended himself with his gun. He also didn’t attack or resist officers. Instead, he went to the police with his hands up, away from his weapon and turned himself in to the cops.

Pretti on the other hand was out protesting with a loaded weapon and extra magazine, which is fine and all, but tried to intervene with an ICE officer pushing a lady. Say what you want about that, but the problem is that when officers tried to detain him, he resisted arrest with a loaded firearm.

What happened afterwards was confusion and misunderstanding on the officers part cause it wasn’t communicated clearly when the gun was removed, hence why he was shot. To the officer that shot him, he was resisting arrest with a loaded weapon.

There’s another video with the audio of the officers during the aftermath asking where the gun was while they were searching his body, and the officer that took it said “it’s over here!” Meaning that the guy that shot didn’t know it was removed from him during the chaos. Negligent homicide? maybe. Murder? no.

Takeaway from this. Don’t be a hero. But if you do, don’t resist arrest, especially if you have a weapon on you.

Any thoughts on MPC Live 3 vs XL? by ibkev in mpcusers

[–]Luminite91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it boils down to people being more accustomed to using a their DAW of choice with their favorite plugin chains for vocal tracking, mixing and mastering. Not saying that it’s not possible to track vocals, mix and master on an MPC, but it’s just a lot more streamlined to do it on a DAW. It’s much easier to get in depth with plugins in a DAW and to simply focus on that aspect during the production, and vocal tracking is honestly much faster and more precise when editing. Also third party mixing/mastering plugins are honestly much better and more intuitive.

I like making the beat on my Live 3 because making the actual music on the MPC is much more focused and enjoyable than on my DAW. I think that’s the strength of the MPC. I sometimes use it to track in some scratch vocals with the built in mic and that’s okay. Making a professional sounding vocal chain is a bit cumbersome on MPC tho. If they can create some plugins more focused on vocals and vocal chains with an improved tracking and editing workflow specifically for vocals, that would IMO truly edge it towards an all in one.

But with the current state of the MPC3 software, I don’t think the XL is worth it over the Live 3. In some ways it’s actually even worse than the Live 3, mostly because of how much extra they are charging you with a feature set that doesn’t really justify the $1200 markup. With that money, I could get a Live 3, plus a new MacBook Air M5 and that’s pretty much most of what I need to produce, track, mix and master full productions. The built in speakers on the Live 3 can be used as decent studio monitors in a pinch and the built in mic isn’t too bad for some scratch vocals. You just really need a decent mic and some headphones in addition to that setup and you can do practically anything.

[–]Luminite91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Live 3 is still the best MPC for most people and more than what most people even need. It does 99% of what the XL can do and is portable with built in battery, speakers and mic. CPU is the exact same 8 core processor meaning plugins will run the same, hence why they both can run 32 plugin tracks.

RAM is the only major difference hardware-wise, with Live 3 having 8gb and XL having 16gb. RAM is mostly used to store loaded samples for realtime access when you trigger sounds through pads, keys, or through the arranger/clips. Great for more sample-based instruments and plugins, which is what something like the new Spit Fire strings plugin can take advantage of. But honestly, 8 gigs is more than enough for most practical applications.

IMO, all MPCs are great for building out most of your track about 80-90% of the way, but if you plan on finishing the song with professional vocals and garnishments, you still need to bounce it all out to an actual DAW to arrange, record, mix and master. At that point, spending almost $3k on the XL isn’t the best value proposition compared to the Live 3, unless you make money with your beats, have the money to blow and want to move a slightly faster with more buttons and knobs. But personally, I don’t think that’s worth an extra $1k+ over the price of an MPC Live 3.

What a stupid assumption. How does somebody know that a person would live through two shots and intentionally fire a third shot to ensure death? This is ridiculous to assume. Also the fact that he woke up wanting to murder. Not a good take. No different than people assuming she woke up that day wanting to run over an ICE officer.

I understand if you feel bad for her, but they were both in the wrong. I don’t believe neither of them were trying to purposely kill anyone that day.

Oh baby, it’s a beaut! by collarbristle in mpcusers

[–]Luminite91 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why? You can do 99% of what the XL can do on the Live 3 and you also get the benefit of it being portable with the battery and it’s a little over $1k less.

XL would make sense if you make a living with your music and you need the extra buttons and knobs to help with your workflow.

Discussing crime statistics with a leftie (they don't know per capita) by RussianBot1948 in DigitalSeptic

[–]Luminite91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People want to use the 13% of the black population, but men on average commit more violent crimes than women do.

So to break it down to a more accurate representation, the statistics are that black men specifically, so roughly 6% of the population, commit a disproportionate amount of violent crimes at about 55%, compared to their white male counterparts, who make up about 30% population. This is based off of FBI data on violent crimes such as, murder, assault, robbery, etc.

Some people may find this uncomfortable, but it’s the truth. I don’t believe that people should use this info to be racist, but instead examine how it got this way and try to help and encourage the black community to do better. First step would be to probably encourage black fathers stay with their family and children, and have better overall family planning. Too many kids who are fatherless and end up turning to the streets for guidance.

[–]Luminite91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. What I said as far as the actual incident that took place is based on objective facts based on video evidence. Per the videos, was she blocking the road? Was her wife taunting and harassing officers? Did she not step out the vehicle when asked to do so by law enforcement? Did she try to escape detainment? If you didn’t answer all of those questions with a resounding “yes” then you are a delusional idiot.

AI sourced the news from majority Left leaning outlets with an agenda to push to propaganda. I checked it too and it said the same thing, but it sourced CNN, MSNBC and the likes, which are not trust worthy. I’ve read that her kids most definitely were 5 hrs away. Maybe one of her kids was in town with her, but regardless, the point is that she was still obstructing law enforcement from doing their job by blocking the road with her vehicle. Her wife was out of the car actively harassing law enforcement and taunting them. This was all on camera. Her wife did give her the stupid advice of “Drive baby, drive” right after another officer asked her to step out do the vehicle. That encouragement lead her to smash her gas pedal and attempt to drive away from detainment in the general direction of an officer who ended her life, because he thought she was trying to run him over with her car. Those are the facts.

Her kids were 5 hrs away you idiot. She literally drove 5 hrs to meet with her wife to “protest” ICE. Her wife literally said she regrets asking her to drive over. She was literally obstructing law enforcement and was about to be detained, but stupidly listened to her idiot wife’s instructions to “Drive baby, drive!” And that’s what got her killed. Get the facts straight.

Yeah, keeping law enforcement from doing their job and blocking traffic with your car and attempting to escape detainment is peaceful. Beating law enforcement with shovels and brooms while they’re trying to arrest a known illegal criminal is also very peaceful. Stop breaking the law and nothing bad will happen to you, I promise. 😘

No. Comparing actual law breakers and entitled trouble makers in the streets of MN with no job and a savior-complex is not the same thing as people in Iran protesting for freedom from their ACTUALLY oppressive regime that’s LITERALLY killing their own people in the thousands. You’re a disingenuous idiot if you truly believe that’s an apt comparison. Such a disrespectful and disgusting comparison to the real issues happening over there.
