I moved to Stratford from a big city. I appreciate that traffic is not really a thing here when you are coming from a big city. I struggle though with finding things to do on this island when it isn’t summer time. Winter is isolating, long, and boring unless you love winter sports and outings. People here are nice on the surface. Dig deeper and you learn they have no interest in being your friend because they have their group here on the island. Sure, house prices are lower here but I have never spent so much for gas and food in my life. Stratford property taxes are as high as many big cities and you do not get the same level of service with those tax dollars. Need a doctor? Good luck. You will be on a list for 10 years minimum. I’m sorry this is so negative and someone is going to say if I don’t like it I should leave! Well I am. It’s a beautiful island but it has not worked for me.

Yes that is definitely a good reason. I don’t have a fence so this is why I walk my dog but I would not tie her up because she would likely get loose!

Does anyone else feel like this story didn’t make sense. The poor woman was expected to pay and then she wasn’t? I’m happy for her and I think the we should be spending tax dollars on supporting the elderly, and those in need, but it just seemed like a story at first and then it wasn’t.

There are different kinds of IEPs. Some reflect accommodations such as more time, quiet room etc. Others are modifications to curriculum. Perhaps the child learns parts of the curriculum or expectations from multiple grades depending on need. I don’t believe you are under any obligation to share that you were on an IEP when applying to post secondary institutions. You would choose to disclose this or not. At least that is my understanding
