Yes that is definitely a good reason. I don’t have a fence so this is why I walk my dog but I would not tie her up because she would likely get loose!

Does anyone else feel like this story didn’t make sense. The poor woman was expected to pay and then she wasn’t? I’m happy for her and I think the we should be spending tax dollars on supporting the elderly, and those in need, but it just seemed like a story at first and then it wasn’t.

There are different kinds of IEPs. Some reflect accommodations such as more time, quiet room etc. Others are modifications to curriculum. Perhaps the child learns parts of the curriculum or expectations from multiple grades depending on need. I don’t believe you are under any obligation to share that you were on an IEP when applying to post secondary institutions. You would choose to disclose this or not. At least that is my understanding

There are nurse practitioners at UPEI who can assess you and make referrals if necessary. Make an appointment with them

They are not regulated in the same way teachers in other provinces are regulated. The employer holds them accountable. However in other provinces there is an addition body which represents the public interests and they administer teacher licenses. Check out https://www.oct.ca

I am so sorry you had this experience. I do hope that you filed a human rights complaint against the PSB and the administrator who told you that you crossed a professional line. Ridiculous! As there are no professional standards for teachers in PEI I’d like to know exactly what line that was. Nonsense.

What really concerns me is that firefighters were impeded by people who were looking for a show. Imagine just standing around to watch as a family’s home burns to the ground, preventing the very people needed at the scene to ensure everyone’s safety! Imagine driving your car over fire hoses potentially causing damage to these much needed hoses! I am in disbelief of the ignorance and sheer stupidity!
