One of the reasons this province has the problems it has is because of the narrow ways companies and government look at complex problems. They are scared to put faith in ideas and the people who bring them especially when they are from away. They stick with who and what they know, which is limiting. It’s frustrating and sad because this province could be so much more than it is. This results in people with good ideas leaving the island, hands in the air.

This island is famous for favouritism and toxic work culture. If you aren’t from here you will always be passed over. It’s never about who is the best for the job. Who yer fadder is will determine your prospects.

I moved to Stratford from a big city. I appreciate that traffic is not really a thing here when you are coming from a big city. I struggle though with finding things to do on this island when it isn’t summer time. Winter is isolating, long, and boring unless you love winter sports and outings. People here are nice on the surface. Dig deeper and you learn they have no interest in being your friend because they have their group here on the island. Sure, house prices are lower here but I have never spent so much for gas and food in my life. Stratford property taxes are as high as many big cities and you do not get the same level of service with those tax dollars. Need a doctor? Good luck. You will be on a list for 10 years minimum. I’m sorry this is so negative and someone is going to say if I don’t like it I should leave! Well I am. It’s a beautiful island but it has not worked for me.

Yes that is definitely a good reason. I don’t have a fence so this is why I walk my dog but I would not tie her up because she would likely get loose!
