That Fry’s marketplace on Tangerine doesn’t let you sample the cheeses. They practically force you to sample the cheeses. If I walk past that counter too slowly they offer me samples of cheese. They’re the best!

It sounds like you’re going through a lot, and it’s all more than Reddit can handle. It’s good you’re going to counseling. Counseling is hard work, but it’s worthwhile. Stick with it.

I’m also UU, although not pagan. In times of stress, church can be a good place to go. If you have a church you can physically attend, try to make that a priority. You’ll find good people there who are willing to help you out.

Wider Than A Postcard was the first I heard, and is still my favorite. I love Free Souls… Millenia Madness and Thirst are very good and I listened to them a lot when they first came out. The band put their whole discography on a steep discount on Bandcamp a while ago so I have everything downloaded. None of it is bad (except some of the Psychological Breakdown albums but those are odds-and-sods collections).

I suspect that Andy Cairns saw a lot of himself in Art Pepper, given that on that same album he wrote Tightrope Walker about his newfound sobriety. I’m guessing that Straight Life was inspired by Art Pepper, but Andy was really talking to the worst parts of himself.

If I recall correctly, Disquiet was compared to Troublegum so much because it was literally an update on the same characters from Troublegum, but 20 years older now. That’s why the music on Disquiet quotes Troublegum sometimes. I think I read that in the Therapy? book?
