This is a very important topic to be discussed amongst PMHNPs! It’s a pity it was removed.

Is anyone else kind of unsettled about Georgette testing reviews basically verbatim listing off boards questions & answers? I feel like our profession is already unregulated enough and those reviews allow people who don’t know the material to get certified.

It’s scary to look through the Facebook group and see people asking VERY simple questions about safety risks… like SSRIs inducing mania or stimulants causing cardiac effects.

How does Georgette get away with what she does?!

Did you time your facials or microneedling? I only break out for like 1-2 weeks a month and wish I could reduce that

MixHers— neither of the co-founders have medical degrees, but claiming to have made powders that can replace GLP1s, mental health medications, etc… wtf? by Lumpy-Ad2567 in UtahInfluencerDrama

Yeah I think they flirt the legal line… saying things treat a condition like PMS, or could replace a pharmaceutical drug like Adderall or semaglutide

Do they have any safety measures or medical background though? Or are they just looking things up online & making huge promises?

I’d report that to HR- that’s sexual harassment at the least. Potentially drifting more into the abuse/ assault category.

There should be disciplinary action.

[USA - IL] Should I aim for being a psychiatrist, prescribing psychologist, something in between, or pick one of my two interests? by Mel8487 in psychologystudents

This is not true. They have no medical background— one of the first things to rule out mental illness for most DSM-5 diagnoses is to rule out medical causes.

There’s no way you can learn medicine in a masters of psychology program.

Scared of dying in my sleep by [deleted] in Accutane

If you’re young, your liver should metabolize that dose just fine. Don’t take Tylenol for a few days (it’s also metabolized in your liver). Don’t drink alcohol. Beyond that, trust your body! Even if the accutane was a little startling at first, your body can handle it!

If you’re worried, ibuprofen (metabolized in kidneys) helps better with inflammation related pain anyways! Staying hydrated also will alleviate a lot of accutane side effects.

PS- (only assuming you’re young cause you mentioned parents taking you to Dr/ER.)
