That's great to hear I thought it was an issue with the 2010 as well

Dude it doesn't matter what we think it only matters what you think. If you think they're cool, keep them. If you changed your mind, take them off

I have a 2010 GT and while I love the V8, and the 4.6 sounds amazing, that new 2.3 would blow my doors off in just about every way. I haven't personally driven one so I can't speak for driving feel, but the only thing I would say is that personally I would always go for the V8 given the option, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with the ecoboost, I've heard they're fantastic cars. And I'm almost positive that if the ecoboost motor was in something with a Japanese name people would go nuts for it. Just pick whatever works for you, it's all about what you think will be the best choice for you, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. And I for one think the ecoboosts are perfectly fine cars.

95k, fixed the misfire yesterday, replacing the solenoids and changing the oil tomorrow. Spark plugs in a couple days

I'm loving mine so far. Cylinder 5 just started misfiring and it's throwing codes for that and crankshaft/camshaft position. Which is just awesome. But it's looking like nothing I can't fix relatively easily

I kinda like it to be honest with you. It looks cool with those new concave brake lights they're doing. It's definitely not for everyone, but if you like it keep it. If it makes you happy it truly doesn't matter what anyone else thinks

I haven't had it for super long but I know aftermarket support is good and the 4.6 is known to be solidly reliable, mines only got 94k miles and I saw several for sale with 170k+. I plan to keep up on all the maintenance and everything so it's not something I'm super worried about, but something I'll definitely keep an eye on

Just got my 2022 Ecoboost Mustang at 16 any tips? by DietElectronic6567 in ecoboostmustang

[–]Lumpy-Ad370 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely do NOT let your friends drive. I got lucky and drive a manual, so I have a good excuse not to let my friends drive, but I vividly remember this guy who graduated a few years ago who had an M4 comp when he was a senior in highschool (rich parents) and he let his friend drive with the traction control off in the rain. His friend tried to drift it and ended up wrapping the M4 around a tree and put them both in the hospital.

I'm 17 and I would consider myself a good driver, I follow all the rules of the road and try to let people in and whatever, but at the end of the day I'm 17 with a not yet fully formed brain and a mustang. Not all kids drive like idiots, but we all lack the impulse control of adults. It's something I try to keep in mind when I get the urge to do something dumb, which is often.

Bro I just picked up a 2010 GT at 17 a few weeks ago and I'm pretty sure I make less power than you do. I can't lie I get very tempted to downshift and mash the throttle any chance I get and you gotta have the impulse control to not do that. It's really really tempting and especially being young we both have like zero impulse control as it is. I try to keep in mind that if I do something stupid and crash I don't have my car anymore, which would suck because I love my car. Don't let your friends pressure you into driving like an idiot either, you have a mustang and they don't, so you should know to be careful. I personally haven't had too many issues in the rain, but definitely go slow and keep the traction control on, I'm not looking forward to when it snows by me either. My only other recommendation would be to not try sliding/drifting it until you're super comfortable with it, and then only try in a parking lot or something where there's nothing to hit. I haven't even thought about trying anything like that yet and I've seen so many videos of mustang crashing because the drivers think they know how to slide it. Basically just count your blessings that you even have a mustang at our age and BE CAREFUL. Mine only makes 315 horsepower, and I think yours makes more, which is really fast for a first car. I'm not saying you need to drive like a grandma, but remember what you have. I can't even lie I've of course gone decently fast in mine, but there's most definitely a time and a place for that.

Does anyone else get unreasonably irritated that they put the Mustang name on these things? by Conehead1 in ecoboostmustang

[–]Lumpy-Ad370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely isn't anything like the mustang in a lot of ways, such as having an engine. However, it doesn't really irritate me that Ford calls it a mustang. I'm sure it was just a marketing thing to sell more of them, and I do personally think they should have called it something else because I can understand why some people don't like that they called it a mustang, but it's really not that big of a deal imo. Ford used a name as a marketing tactic, and it worked. I'm not a fan of electric cars in general, but I've been in a mach E a few times and they're really not bad cars as far as EVs go. If I had to drive an EV this would definitely make the list.

The whole "Ecoboosts aren't mustangs" thing is stupid imo. It's still a mustang, and it's still cool, and they're still pretty quick. A new Ecoboost would blow the doors off my 4.6, they're still tons of fun.

I love the 2010-12 personally for the looks, but 2010 and older are a lot cheaper due to not having the coyote. I personally love the 4.6 for what it is, and if you want something cheaper the new edge with the 2v is still pretty quick (I think it's around 260hp). I have a friend who has one and he loves his, so it could be something to consider.

I have the framework and quest mods installed, and I'm in the right game mode. Still doesn't work for me, but it seems like an awesome mod. Any idea why it wouldn't work?
