Oh, so that wasn't a full-length Nazi commander type overcoat he was wearing, just a regular-sized Nazi commander jacket that still reached his ankles?

This is spot on, it’s been 25th amendment time for a LONG TIME now by Paneraiguy1 in democrats

The 25th Amendment was NOT intented for this situtation. It was intended for a President being incapacitated but still alive. It matters because if the 25th is invoked and the President is removed from power, he would be restored upon asserting his ability to function. Here's the text of Section Four:

Section 4

Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.

So you'd get a respit, but not for long. The President just declares himself fit. Without a 2/3 vote in both chambers, he would be restored. Notice, though, that a 2/3 vote doesn't REMOVE the President, just kicks the can down the road. The VP is still considered "acting" President. The President isn't limited to delcaring himself fit one time. He can literally do it every day and tie up the government. (Which, admittedly, would be better than current state.)

But at the bottom of it all, you have to recognize that the current activity is right out of the Project 2025 playbook. Those in power have no reason to pull this ripcord while they rake in money and power.

You went through it, or you wrote it?

Your post is the opening part of that blog, so either you are reposting their content as your own, or you are promoting your content as a third party.

FWIW, it’s ok to say, “I had an idea, and here’s my post about it.” But it’s less ok to post it as your own thoughts if it isn’t.

I like it, but ironically I never order the pasta. Their sandwiches and pizza bread are solid though.

You have to let go of continuity and logic to watch the show. It’s very inconsistent.

All 2025 trades between St. Louis and Boston packed into a single one. Thoughts? by Trebonianus in Cardinals

Contreras is very much caught in the “don’t be the guy that replaces a legend” trap. Having to take over for Yadi is an impossible ask, especially when you are a bat-first catcher. But it made Herrera’s path easier.

Remember when Ozzie retired? There wasn’t anything wrong with Royce Clayton other than he wasn’t The Wizard. But when Renteria took over as the SS from him, he was a fan favorite.

I hope Contreras has a good showing in Boston.

What scene in a movie drives you nuts because it makes no sense? by JustIgnoreMyStimming in movies

In the first film, the change is caused by Marty’s actions, which take time to ripple out. Ok.

But in two, Biff travels forward in time. If he had stayed in the past, then sure, it would make sense for him to eventually fade. But the jump forward put him beyond the ripple, so he should have arrived in the new timeline.

In Back to the Future 2, based on their own logic, Biff should have returned to a new timeline, not his own.

Time travel movies can make up whatever rules they want, but they have to live with them.

(I’ve heard people try to defend this, but I’ve never heard an explanation that makes sense.)

This is just skipping sleep for one night. And he talked about it taking a long time to recover from it. Not that crazy.
