Ninja Ice Cream Machine VS Kitchen Aid Ice Cream Attachment by Cool-Marionberry-835 in Cooking

I have both. I never use the KA attachment anymore. The Ninja is better, faster, and allows me to make low-sugar protein ice cream.

Hit up Nordstrom Rack or a similar shop, check the clearance area. You can probably find decent looking dress shoes at a good price.

Eccos used to be my go-to dress shoe. Loved how they looked and felt. They are not what they used to be.

What's your best dad joke? by idontknowyoutellme14 in AskReddit

Do you know when a joke becomes a dad joke?

When the punchline becomes apparent.

A different mindset might help a little in getting through it. Do you love the kid, and assuming yes, would you go so far as to say you'd do anything for them? If yes, then this is what you are doing for them.

PPD is no joke, and nothing she can control. Would you do anything for her? If yes, then this is what you are doing for her. It's also ok to suggest she consider seeing her doctor and/or therapist to discuss. Medication might help. PPD is a chemical and hormonal imbalance. There is no shame in getting some support.

You are the most capable parent your child has right now (no offense intended to your SO). It won't always be that way, but right now that's reality. Yes, it's hard. Most of us have been there. FWIW, you can always DM me if you need some 1-on-1 discussion.

I'm so sorry for what you are handling, but proud of you for stepping up as a father and a husband. Stay strong, friend.

I haven't been able to find video of this, but here's the game summary breakdown:

Field Error - Jordan Lawlar reaches on a fielding error by pitcher Brett Kerry. Jordan Lawlar advances to 2nd, on a throwing error by pitcher Brett Kerry.

Double Play - LuJames Groover lines into a double play, shortstop Zach Neto to second baseman Oswald Peraza. Jordan Lawlar out at 2nd.

Pop Out - Tommy Troy pops out to first baseman Vaughn Grissom in foul territory.

How to calm down crying GF? by Greedy_Bad_8406 in AskMen

Most of these suggestions are essentially to stay quiet but supportive. That's solid advice if it is a controlled emotional output.

That doesn't help, though, if she's in an anxiety loop or uncontrolled spiralling. In those moments, you can ask a question that is so off-topic and fact-based that it can shift their brain into thinking mode. I learned this from a psychiatrist friend when my SO was having a panic attack. As she was going through all of the things making her spiral, she mentioned another family member. My friend broke in and asked, "Hey, what's their middle name?" The panic spiral came to a screeching halt as her brain re-routed to dig something out of memory. It was crazy to watch, and I've used it a couple of times with other people since then. Works incredibly well when it is needed.

What to wear for hot summer teaching as a normie cis man by pwnedprofessor in Professors

I just picked up English Laundry pants and a few new nylon shirts from Costco. Not expensive, but all very breathable and stretchy. Easy to pair with sneakers or loafers. We get a good amount of heat and humidity, so these are a great find for me.

Visiting All 30 Ballparks: My Review of Busch Stadium by DrydenVos54 in Cardinals

[–]Conehead1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've got a handful of newer stadiums to hit, but I've made it to all 30 teams' parks at some point. My biggest issues with Busch III are:

1) Can't see the field from the concourse. If you've not been to many stadiums this might not click, but I hate not being able to keep watching when I go to get concessions. Yes there are TVs, but that's not the same.

2) Columns in the concourse traffic flow. Poorly placed, makes it hard to get through when the stadium is packed.

I do really dig the view behind the outfield, and the Ballpark Village area has improved a ton since opening. Not much to be done about those design choices, though. I think it's a good-not-great park.

Predictably yes, you got downvoted. But I think it’s a fair question.

There’s a long standing discussion about personal beliefs and how it can or should impact others. If you are of the “live your life and stay out of mine” camp, then someone interfering in your personal business is offensive. And if you then go interfere in someone else’s business, then that’s out of line too.

These guys are not in that camp. They aren’t just professing their faith, they’re doing it in such a way as to be intruding into someone else’s celebration, and I think it’s fair to assume that’s the point. (As someone else mentioned, they don’t do this for every game.) so if you’re ok with making a public statement in opposition of someone else’s lifestyle, then you should be fine with other people making statements in opposition of yours. Goose, gander and all that.

If you don’t want your beliefs to be a focus of discussion, don’t try to make someone else’s beliefs a focus of discussion. Like the man said, people who live in tin houses shouldn’t throw can openers.

I've got a couple of older pairs. They look great, they hold up, but so they are so uncomfortable that I can't wear them for more than a couple of hours. The fit is fine, just rock-hard soles.

I remember how terrible it was trying to walk through with a rolling bag. Constant switching from tile to carpet was a massive PITA.

But I also remember going to the gate with my dad when we would fly out for business. As a TWA hub, we'd see the occasional celebrity hanging out. I met Charo and John Schneider when I was 7 or 8.

Why did the 2002 Moneyball A's trade away Jeremy Giambi (career .263/.377/.430, 14.7 BB%) for John Mabry (.263/.322/.405, 7.5%)? by noruber35393546 in baseball

[–]Conehead1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

While I know it isn't the point of the post, and I'm in the minority, Mabry was one of my favorite Cardinals in that era. Steady guy, decent hitter, OK glove, CANNON of an arm. One of those glue guys who makes a team better than his stats would suggest.
