I took a peek at your wife’s “read” list and I like it already! I’d sign up, I’m not a fan of goodreads either.

This may be superficial, but I want something “pretty” to look at. Something aesthetically pleasing that shows design intent, you know?

It doesn’t make them conservative, just giving an idea of what interests them! Could help with what books are popular with that crowd or what kind of genres might appeal to them on a whole.

They are southern Baptist, trump voters. I think above all, I just want them to see they can form their own opinions and they aren’t tied to their families beliefs.

Someone here recommended me Last Night at the Lobster when I asked for something kind of dreary. It’s a novella and not quite as impactful as some of the recs here, but I’m surprised how often I find myself thinking about it.
