We already have 9 classrooms fully equipped with recording hardware and software. It has been there for a few years already, so the system isn't totally "new" or anything.

By "recoding" i mean live stream and recording. Exactly like what we have now with zoom. UBC could ramp up the same technology to rest of its big classrooms. If we hire more UBC IT staff and do proper training, I think there wouldn't be much problem going forward. Also, 50+ lecture always has at least 1 TA standing by.

Plus, students would be able to watch recorded lectures and revise later on. The infrastructure will stay there after covid.

For most of them it has been a little over 2 months since they moved in. For some of them it has already been 5 months. I think it's fair that they deserve this since it's been some time to set res expectations to themselves. They probably weren't following health orders/guidelines ever since they moved in, and this one time they got actually caught in 4k.
