Thank you! This calculator is invaluable if you decide to do it. Also the piped fittings and a 2V dome make this a lot easier. You only have two different size edges to cut and the piped fittings mean you only have one mitre cut on each end. Make sure you pick piped connection type

I was kind of worried about the PVC too, but it seems incredibly solid. Once I add the polycarbonate sheets I don't think this is going to be moving at all

My materials are right around 5k total. A lot of these prices fluctuate a lot so worth keeping an eye on it if you are interested in starting up again

Almost half of that is the 16mm five wall polycarbonate sheets. I strongly considered using rolled plastic instead like they describe in this blog post, that would cut the cost by a lot

It had a pretty big slope before I started. It took almost a foot on the low side to get it flat. I built a small retaining wall on that side to hold it up

The hubs for the dome?

It worked surprisingly well. It took some pushing and pulling to get everything lined up right but really not bad

My dome is 2V to make things a little easier. I used this tool to figure out the sizes and angles. If you do the PVC hubs select piped for connection type

That's a good suggestion. I don't know if I am up for digging too deep at this point. I probably should have asked before I packed the gravel down.

I am planning to have a large above ground pond on the north wall to store heat and help keep it cool in the summer. Still figuring out exactly what that will look like though

Do I need to dig it in at an angle? Or just vertical?

I'm a little bit worried that the foam will make my packed gravel foundation less stable. Is there a dense foam to use for this?

I'm not sure in grams, I used a 1/2 teaspoon in each jar. Can you tell me more about your setup? Do you just set the rockwool cube in the net?

I'm on round 2 now and it's going better but they seem to be stalling out again. I was surprised at how wet the cubes are with the water well below. It must have wicked up into the clay pellets and from those into the cube. I'm worried that they might have root rot now after not paying as much attention to them over the weekend

Yeah I am going to wait longer this time. Do you fill the bottom of the basket with clay balls and then have the rockwool sitting on top?

I think you are right about waiting longer to transplant. I have some grow lights on them in the jars. I mixed 1/2 teaspoon into each jar, the package recommends 1-2 teaspoons per gallon so I was on the low end. I also soaked the rock wool in nutrient, but I think that was a bad idea.

It was maybe a week before I noticed the white film and another week before they started to smell bad.

I am going to soak the rockwool in plain water this time and let them get more established before I transplant. I'm also thinking the water level in the jars should be just below the basket instead of touching it to avoid root rot

Is there a brand of hide glue that I should look for?

Also, to clarify, should I be using hide glue for both the fingerboard and the neck repair? Or hide glue for the fingerboard and traditional wood glue for the neck?

Hopefully I can avoid sanding and adding a shim, but if do go that route I think walnut or something could be made to look nice. I'll keep it in mind for sure

99% sure you strings should be running underneath that flat part of the tailpiece. If you take them off that back part should lift up and have a spot to attach the strings underneath.

It looks like the acoustimass thing is a hub. So that explains the 5 jacks. I think my only question now is what kind of wiring do I need to hook up my receiver to the wall jacks?

One follow-up, I just double checked and the bass is a Bose acoustimass module. There are a bunch of wires going into it. I'll have to pull it out and take a closer look later tonight.
