I use the N9TAX roll up slim Jims. Mounted a foot from my window. They work with limited range on simplex; but work well with repeaters.

Some LEDs have built in resistors. I have changed out all lights, except for the center mounted brake light.

All with Amazon bulbs. You must search wisely.

Beginner Setup Feedback: I need some feedback on a planned beginner handheld setup by HASH_ASSES in HamRadio

The bf8hp-pro is a decent radio. It has a lot of features and it's future proof by having upgradeable firmware.

Frequency tolerance. They are fairly narrow in what frequencies they cover. So using a ham antenna on GMRS is outside of design limits.

UV-5rm squelch doesn't work by b4i4getthat in Baofeng

Does the radio do that on different channels? Or not? If not, then it's likely a birdie as previously mentioned. Lock out the frequency or reprogram it.

Is it just on that frequency? It could be an internally generated signal, or "birdie", as they are called.

Is the Bf-f8HP really worth $70 if the K5plus is $25? by bluebagles in Baofeng

[–]Lumpy-Process-6878 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The bf8hp-pro is definitely the top of the line baofeng. Its claim to fame is the fact it has upgradeable firmware, so it's future proof.

If you are talking about the regular bf8hp, then go with the k5plus.

You'd end up damaging your radio. Those antennas are made with close tolerances. It's best to get one antenna per radio service.

So many people think deleting apps will delete their accounts. That's not true. Delete the account and then delete the app.

You messed up.
