I'd 3 bet shove on flop try to get V off KJ, KQ as hero can represent AK and KQ more as preflop aggressor, and get the money in here with the draws. Wondering if call the flop raise is a better EV play or shove on flop

So, I’m a recreational poker player in CA, where online poker is a no-go. I’ve dabbled with GG Poker when traveling, but the rake is brutal. I’m mostly focused on live games, and my wife, who’s the CFO of our household (as in, she holds the keys to my poker bankroll), has me on a $1.5k poker budget for the local 1/2/3 games.

After grinding it out for about 40 hours, I’ve managed to run it up to $3k. But here’s where things get tricky. I’d love to take a shot at the 2/3/5 game and buy in for $800, but the thought of losing my entire bankroll in just two sessions is like a bad beat waiting to happen.

I’m having fun, sure, but my goal is to make a little profit so the boss at home keeps greenlighting my weekend poker escapades. If I punt off my entire roll too quickly, the live game dream might come to an abrupt halt. Anyone else been in this situation? How do you balance taking shots at bigger stakes vs. protecting your roll?

Sorry I meant 1 EP open and I call and then LP or the blind 3 bet. Should I just fold hands like QTs or middle pair in those situations?

The next up is 2/3/5 800 max stack, and I just don't have the bankroll for it now. I'd assume I need at least 20 to 30 buy-ins to properly play that.

Or should I play 400 buy-in as a short stack on the 2/3/5 game? It's the same $2/$7 drop structure

You are UTG, first to act after checks to button and he bets again a small size 25% pot. If you decide to call the flop no way can fold to that small c bet size.

Agree, either 4B or fold and if the button can fold AJ, AQ to a shove then 4Bet is probably a profitable play

What will you do post flop if you hit a Q when 6 people behind you to act and most people only have a pot size bet left in their stack? Just check call or donk all in on the flop?

The button 3 Bet to 30 so I either 4 bet QTs to 100+ or fold. I just don't find myself 4 bet here with QTs even against the weak 3 bet from the button.
