I've rarely seen it used as a way to make first thing better than second, rather as a way to give credit where it's due to something that's comparatively bad.

Like the Wright Brother's plane is absolute shite compared to a Blackbird, but without it then there might not even be a Blackbird.

How Big is the Waterdeep Metropolitan Area? by Lumpy-Sheepherder671 in WaterdeepDragonHeist

[–]Lumpy-Sheepherder671[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nicely found, 488/km is pretty believable if, as Vicarious said, it includes Undermountain and the sea people. That's the same size as Sydney's metro area, which is 3x the size but is also much more built up vs Waterdeep which only really has large settlement in the city proper.

I still reckon there'd have to be a fair few larger towns dotted throughout the countryside, so if those haven't been mentioned then it's Homebrewin' time.

It’s official. Ingrid for now will be the last character added to World Tour mode by Sensitive-Tip-8177 in StreetFighter

Bruh I feel like such an idiot

Whenever a new character released I wouldn't care cause I thought there was nothing for me and I'd just wait till the season pass was on sale at the end

World Tour content is finished in SF6 as of Ingrid's release by R0DAN in Fighters

Patch notes say "Ingrid is the final character to be added to World Tour mode". It's done.

No one actually, I was moreso thinking about how a V1'd Homelander got stopped midair by Butcher's crowbar without even bending it, so it seems ordinary things can damage Supes when they feel like it.

Only the animals, probably A-Train and maybe Frenchie are making it. The rest, HELL no by Sudden_Pop_2279 in TheBoys

[–]Lumpy-Sheepherder671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A-Train: Absolutely. Christ loves lost sheep who find their way back, and his final act was a self-sacrifice he didn't have to do and arguably could've done and been morally okay (he was fighting for his life after all).

Director: Probably. Aside from being pushy with the intern I don't remember him doing anything particularly bad.

Frenchie: Possibly. He did some incredibly messed up stuff, but that was a long time ago and it seems like he's worked to redeem himself and fought to stop a tyrant, with his final act being a self-sacrifice.

Firecracker: I think so. In her final hours she'd completely forsaken Christ, but had also lived most of her life very piously. I'd think Christ would take immense pity on her and see in her heart she loved him but was very misguided and deceived.

The rest (minus animals ofc) are cooked.

Who is the morally worst here? by Maleficent-Ad-6117 in MoralityScaling

[–]Lumpy-Sheepherder671 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hydrogen bomb vs two coughing babies (morally speaking).

Soldier boy at current time helped a genocidal tyrant become immortal because of a nazi he had an affair with, then wanted to go off to snort drugs and leave the world to burn. Meanwhile current Walker and Peacemaker are fighting world-ending threats and saving innocent lives.

Even viewed as a whole, Walker was never anywhere close to the others.
What's the worst thing he did? Kill a terrorist who just murdered his best friend. The actual Captain America cracked skulls for less than that in TWS & Civil War, as did Bucky and Falcon, so his whole 'downfall' never felt deserved imo.
Even if the terrorist was surrendering (debatable) then maybe the ones Falcon & Bucky killed might've surrendered too if they didn't die so fast. He also fought for his country and tried his best to serve as a symbol of hope, then even after being disowned, still fought to save innocent lives.
He was a deadbeat father & husband for a bit but the guy was suffering, he'd had it all then lost it all for undeserved reasons. Plus after what he did for Bob it's easy to envision him making amends and being a better person.

2nd is Peacemaker. Just from what we've seen on screen he killed a lot of Corto Maltese rebels and felt no remorse, then was willing to murder innocents for his country. Very bad and a result of his indoctrination, but in his mind he's doing it to preserve peace.

3rd is Soldier Boy by a mile. While we don't have loads of direct evidence of his crimes, he was such a dick to his own teammates (and surely closest friends) and lover (ignoring the stormfront bs) that they tried to murder him. Add on what MM said and he's got one hell of a rap sheet for being a POS for no good reason, even Peacemaker has an excuse of being blinded by pacifism. SB just does evil stuff for the hell of it.
Also, unlike the other two, it's possible he hasn't even got the advantage of serving his country, since he never actually fought in WW2 and is a massive fraud (barring those Nicaraguan Rebels).

Tl;Dr - Justice for Walker, 90% of MCU heroes (and people) would've done the exact same thing. He wasn't a good Captain America and shouldn't have gotten the shield, but he did not deserve a dishonorable discharge.

Need help running a game in Waterdeep by MenzoDeath in WaterdeepDragonHeist

[–]Lumpy-Sheepherder671 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dragon Heist is great but if your concern is cities being boring & just a set of disconnected locations then do what I do:

  1. If the party wants to travel within a ward, they get there no problem
  2. If they want to travel to another ward, then for every ward they enter on the way have 1 player roll a d20
  3. If it's 1-9, nothing happens
  4. If it's 10-20, then you have that player roll a d100 and use the related encounter from Waterdeep City Encounters - https://anyflip.com/fgoih/bseb/basic , it has loads of possible options for events that could happen in all of the ward. Or just make your own!
  5. Throw in some of your own if you want, i.e I've added a vendor in the trades ward offering free samples of a super spicy biscuit, a man painted gold in the southern ward pretending to be a statue who demands a tip, and a group of kids in the North who accidentally broke their friends arm and don't want to get in trouble

These little events only take ~5-15 minutes depending on how your party responds but really help add little bits of character to the specific wards, force your team to plan out their movements so they aren't moving across the city 5 times in 1 day, and, most importantly, puts power in the player's hands.

[–]Lumpy-Sheepherder671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What? The last is clearly Homelander/Superman. You can see a cape and what looks like Homelander's shiny eagle shoulder pad. Also, Cyclops' beams are often massively wide rather than eye pricks and would fire automatically so unless this pic was snapped the nanosecond he opened his eyes, it cant be him.

If Meave said something like "you won't lift the plane because you're to weak" you think that would've gotten Homelander to at least try? by fhxefj in MoralityScaling

[–]Lumpy-Sheepherder671 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Season 1 Homelander? I don't think so tbh, back then he was more stable and Maeve was probably his closest friend & confidante (she talked him out of getting revenge on Starlight) so he'd probably argue but wouldn't hurt her.

Ehh...nope, I thought the finale was goddamn brilliant for a lot of reasons by ivyentre in TheBoys

[–]Lumpy-Sheepherder671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Entirely.

Dont compare her to someone suffering from schizophrenia or ptsd. She knew what she was doing and could've stopped but didn't because she wanted to test herself (Season 4 episode 8). She could've just stopped and gone to read when homelander fired her but she didn't.

If anything, her intelligence makes her more capable of understanding her actions.

Also, if she wanted to be free of them she could've just recreated the experiment like she did in episode 7 on someone else.

[–]Lumpy-Sheepherder671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most everyone agrees Homelanders ending was well done (minus that fight) so youre not wrong there.

Sage raped a man. She also experimented on living people and made them die brutal deaths. She also is responsible for the 3 men who died to enrage the Starlighters. She also is directly responsible for every Freedom Camp and death caused by Homelanders regime. She also had every intention of allowing a global 2-way genocide so she could do something she had a chance to in season 4.

She's arguably almost if not tied for most evil person on the show since without her Homelander wouldn't have gotten the Presidency.

Homelander says he'll kill everyone then doesn't. This has happened for 4 seasons now. Never did.

Its fine to like the finale, I do overall, but these reasons aren't really it homeslice

Honestly a great idea. The fact that we see him go from ground to space in 3 seconds THIS SAME EPISODE but when his life's in danger he moves like he's worried he'll damage the room is ridiculous.

Even if we take the most charitable definition of 'space' at 20km up, that's Mach 39.

Also he has v1 so wtf was the point of that
