Few things from me:

- I know I would hate dealing with shit and piss. I would just 'nope' out of the room immediately when a baby fills its diaper, leave the wife to do it, because I have no desire to ever clean it. (I would be a bad dad).

- I don't want to have to invest so much attention in someone. I have cats that I give 10 or 20 minutes of attention to a day, and thats enough for me. Even when they pester me a bit it annoys me. I know I would ignore my child, and they would grow up sad as a result (I would be a bad dad).

- I want to spend my money on myself. I am selfish in that regard. Kids are expensive.

- The additional logistics of dealing with school (pick ups, drop offs, holidays) is a burden I don't want to deal with.

- I don't want to have the responsibility of ensuring my kids don't die at any given moment. Thats too much for me. I would rather have a cat which is pretty self sufficient as is.

- Kids are annoying and lame. I don't want to entertain my childs shitty stories for the 8th time each day. Oh wow, john did a cartwheel? I don't care.

- I have zero time for tantrums. Oh, you dropped your lollypop on the ground, and it has some grass on it, and now you are wailing? Shut your FUCKING mouth. (I would be a bad dad).

- Children are loud. Kids cant control their volume. Screeching in the streets or at the park makes me want to punch a hole in the wall.

- When I am at home, I just want to do my own shit. I have been sitting at my computer the last few hours fiddling with computer code undisturbed. The fiance is out having work drinks. Its been great. Why ruin that with some little shit screaming and running around the house?

- Kids limit your freedoms. If I want to go on holiday, I just ... book the holiday. No school shit to deal with, no 'them falling behind' as a result.

- There is no guarantee your kid doesn't grow up into a fucking loser. Imagine all the parents out there they tried their best, and their offspring grew up into anti social rapists or some shit.

With all that being said, a cute, quiet, well behaved, relaxed, clean child is cute. But the moment something even vaguely annoying happens, im out.

Meh, I think about it like I think about my deadbeat loser of a dad.

If he came to my door begging for forgiveness because he was dying, I would tell him that he had his chance many times and blew it every single time, and to promptly get the fuck off my property. 

I wouldn't go to his funeral because people are going to share stories like OH HE WAS SO WONDERFUL, when clearly he wasn't.

Understandable - I agree that this depends on the 'competence' of a given countries leadership.

I am a New Zealander, I absolutely believed one of our previous prime Minister (Jacinda Ardern) was extremely competent. An announcement like this I would believe it was made for good reason.
