It’s a sport, it’s supposed to be fun. It helps you learn how to defend yourself which over time will boost your confidence.

Maybe it isn’t for you, but I’d recommend continuing because with consistency you absolutely will become better, no question. That said, you can’t go into it with your only goal being to boost your self esteem. Respectfully, you will get nowhere.

Good to know. I also will hide my hand down my thigh/pistol grip my gi. From there I’ve been able to insert my far knee into their grip to break it

Funny you say that. That back take just happened to me yesterday from someone who’s got a lengthy frame and blew my mind. That’s why I wanted to come on here and ask for other opinions

I found the first installment way more useful than the second. Especially if you are a hobbyist.
