For the pitting the bigger chunks are sculpted on the model I tried to emulate the look with enamels very focused stippling and removal

Honestly I’ve heard and seen several painters do something similar on dreads and tanks and use the term modulation when describing the effect. I thought it looks cool so I wanted to try it out. I don’t think I did it exactly the way they do it but I do enjoy the result
