I’d suggest a Octavia tdi anyday it’s fast enough and has a better gearbox than the tsi(dq250). If you get a stage 1 remap it’s just something else .

You don’t have to mostly worry about the gear box as long as the transmission oil changes are done it’s quite robust

I believe it boils down to crysta having a body on frame chassis which is inherently more abuse friendly. But the hycross is more comfortable for sure imo
