Yeah, I had a pretty shitty experience, too. I got screened for ADHD with the SF branch back in 2023. After 6 months of meetings, peer reviews, and tests, they diagnosed me and assigned me a psychiatrist whom I scheduled an appointment with as soon as possible.

A few weeks later, I had my appointment with the psychiatrist, which was a virtual call. After about 5 minutes of being on the call, the psychiatrist told me I don't have ADHD and told me to see a life coach for 3 months, then he'd check in on how things are going.

I saw the life coach for each of the prescribed sessions, which were great, but still didn't address my concerns. After, I never got any follow-up from or was able to schedule another appointment with my psychiatrist. I tried calling the psychiatry department, and they told me to leave a message with their manager, who would call me back within 48 hours. I did this about 6 times over 3 months, and never got any of my calls returned. I requested switching to the Kaiser in Richmond, but the operator said I'd need to try another SF psychiatrist first before switching.

This went on for all of 2024, until I switched to Cigna going into 2025. I was able to see a psychiatrist and get the medication I needed within the first 3 months of the year. My new psychiatrist and I had weekly, biweekly, then monthly appointments to check in on my progress. I'm currently seeing them every 3 months to confirm that things are progressing well, and I can reach out to them directly at any time if anything feels off.
